This old fashioned Diner/Cafe is a great place to sit and have a sandwich with chips, and a cerveza. There is great people watching, and when we were there at about 8pm with our kids, it was all locals. The Cochinita pibil is always a safe choice!

Stopped here for lunch. Made the mistake of ordering Serrano ham and cheese sandwich. So chewy we could hardly eat it. There were a ton of flies buzzing around so you had to eat with one had and swat with the other. Server seemed totally disinterested. For us, not a good lunch experience. Many better options in the area.

This an institution opened since 1958, and for the longest time the only place where you could have a bite to eat after 10 PM in Merida. It is located at the beginning of "Paseo de Montejo" with our outdoor seating, and serves cafeteria like options like sandwiches, burgers, etc. This is not a place for fine dining, but a... More

This place is an institution in Merida that's been around since 1958. The location is cool, right at the start of Paseo de Montejo, with (only) outdoor seating. The food is simple but tasty: sandwiches, burgers, fries etc. They serve beer and wine, too. But it is all about their frappe frutas! Kind of a fresh fruit agua fresca slushie!... More

We walked the paseo and found this gem. The sandwiches are huge and to die for. The lime chicken soup - excellent. A not to be missed visit.

There will not be a single day during lunch or dinner time that you can go by Impala and not see it full of locals enjoying their wonderful sandwiches with chips. (We were lucky to arrive late just as everybody was leaving.) Not to be missed!

Made the mistake of stopping for coffee 9am. Waited 20 mins for 2 cappuccino and the server brought lattes. Several tables got fed up waiting and walked out. Place was run by teenagers and no owners in sight. Probably fine evenings but won't be going back to find out.

The restaurant is outdoors on the sidewalk. Mingle with the locals who are enjoying inexpensive and well prepared sandwiches or snacks with lots of drinks to choose from. Service is good and so is the food. Others mention people watching. You can certainly do this here.

This is a very traditional restaurant in Merida. You can taste delicious sandwiches abd sodas. The place is just on best avenue. If you visit Merida this is a really nice place to visit.
