Had a fine lunch there. Nice dining area with A/C. Menu was extensive but they did not have many of the items on the "chef's recommendation" list. Change/ update the menu; it is just paper! The service was rather poor. The busboy did most of the work while the waiters stood around and talked amongst themselves. Busbuy get a bigger... More

This is a first rate seafood restaurant. Upscale prices by Mérida standards, but really quite reasonable, especially for international travelers. They have a nice selection of non-alcoholic drinks including fresh fruit beverages made from chaya, tamarind, and lima (not lime!). They serve bread/butter and totopos with a habanero salsa that is not deadly but may be too much for those... More

Oh boy, these guys Know How To Cook! English not their forte, but hey, who goes to a restaurant to talk, eh? Verdict: Probably the best shrimps (in mango) I've ever eaten.

We wanted fish and La Pigua offers many forms of Yucatan food including local fish. As always we value prompt and attentive service and good prices.

We had our first meal in Mexico here and were very impressed with the food and service. Our family of 4 had a huge, delicious Christmas Eve lunch. We liked the food so much, we ordered a couple of more dishes to take home for dinner. The only negative was that they were out of a few menu items we... More

We were looking for a seafood restaurant which offers traditional Mexican cuisine. The hotel staff suggested La Pigua which offers seafood cooked traditional Mexican, Mayan style. It was only a few blocks from Merida Hyatt where we were staying. It is a medium size restaurant with a simple but pleasant ambience and decor. We ordered seafood with pasta, seafood salad,... More

We enjoyed two of the chef’s recommended dishes. I had grilled shrimp with pasta and my husband had the tuna stuffed with goat’s cheese and caviar. The shrimp and pasta was delicious; nicely seasoned and the pasta was perfectly cooked – a surprise in Mexico. My husband wasn’t so thrilled with the tuna, which he thought wasn’t as fresh as... This lovely restaurant offers seafood specialities that are not found in most Mérida establishments. The service is impecable and the setting very relaxing. We often sit by the little fountain, our special spot. The blue crab or cangrejo azul is wonderful as is the pigua for which the restaurant is named. This is a favourite place for business lunches as... More

Great original seafood. All dishes were tasty and original. Guess the ambiance is colored blue to make you feel comfortable and cool to compensate the extreme heat outdoors.
