If you want to experience real Cuban music, this is the bar for you! We’ve been there twice and will be back several more times this trip. Marco is a world-class bartender and makes the best mojito anywhere. He takes serious pride in his creations. Jesus is the owner and his 3 piece band plays Cuban salsa most nights. He... More

Enjoy a little bit of Havana in this wonderful small lounge/restaurant of the main plaza in San Miguel. We have been several times over the past two years and have been treated to great music and good appetizers and great cubanas. Jesus has been most accommodating and when given advance notice of a party of eight or ten will put... More

This place was a lovely little find. They play great live music almost every nice. On Saturdays they do a salsa class around 8 pm and after you can listen to the music and dance!

Great little place with BBQ tacos out the back. Live music inside, but both times we went it was empty. But if you like good tacos and a beer, this is the place. Much cheaper than other tourist places

Whenever my wife and I travel we wander the back streets to get the local atmosphere and stumbled upon La Rumba and had a blast joking with Jesus, eating delicious tortas Cubana (Cuban sandwiches) and, ahem, drinking a little. Jesus is a real crackup but humble and approachable. We are still reciting some his jokes. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for... More

I always try to look around each town we visit to find that cool little bar that has good food and a friendly atmosphere. And reasonably priced beer! I found this place a few blocks back from the ferry pier. Both owners were great to visit with ie. tons of good stories and had plenty time for their customers. There... More

Visited this place twice during my trip. Fish tacos were good, guacamole was good, and drinks were good. Jesus is a character! We found humor in his humor and we shocked when we heard him sing and play with the band - very good live music.

My sister and I went to la Rumba for their 4 anniversary celebration. The band was playing music which was playing beautiful Cuban music...Angel has the best voice and Jesus plays the guitar like not other. The wait staff is excellent and greets us when we arrive and very friendly. The libations are moderately priced.

The owners (and their band members) are super talented and accomplished musicians. Their passion for the music is compelling and contagious. They are also very gracious hosts. We highly recommend you swing by there for a set or two. There is also a unique opportunity for newbies to learn how to salsa. On Saturday night, the lovely dance instructor, Lilia,... More

We opened La Rumba to offer a place with true Latin flavor that is free of touristy gimmicks. We love Mexico and the culture of Latin America and aim to share that through food, drink and quality live music. A good day for us is to have a mix of clientele where locals and tourists come together in a comfortable and inviting space.
