This place is a real gem!. The service is excellent and the food is phenomenal. They have the best mango pie. If you are visiting Cozumel, you must stop and have a "plato del dia", you will not be disappointed. They have options for everyone. It comes with soup and agua fresca. I am vegetarian and had a fantastic stuffed... More

We had a great time, lovely inexpensive typical food. The staff was very friendly. Just off the main road with nice outdoor seating.

We usually have one to two meals here each trip. This time it was just breakfast but as always, delicious, and large servings! My husband and I split and omelette and the plate of fruit and had coffee. The chilaquiles are great as well. We were stuffed!

Soup, main, two sides (with tacos) 90 pesos. You can't beat that. Good home cooked food. This is a regular stop for us. Never disappointed! Friendly and accomodating staff.

Rode our bikes to La Candela for lunch. Had Cuban sandwiches today. Better than the ones we had in Havana. We should have shared one sandwich as they were huge. Each took half a sandwich home for another meal. La Candela is noted for their Cuban pork on Saturdays and they have delicious breakfasts as well.

We've been coming for lunch every time we visit. The takeout/daily special never disappoints. Chicken, pork or stuffed peppers, fresh vegetables, rice etc. This has to be the best lunch for the money on the island. Just left Cozumel on 10 Feb and looking forward to June already and La Candela lunches play no small part in our desire to... More

I was in Cozumel this past December and friends and I wanted to get together pre- holidays: they selected La Candela. We arrived early at 8 am, the place was ready to go: tables set up, good things cooking in the open kitchen, friendly servers at the door. We had a wide variety of things, but the "Motuleño" eggs and... More
