This is not a Michelin 3 star restaurant, but what you get here is the "real" Cancun where the locals all eat. Start off with their signature Michelada complete with the skewer of shrimp and tajin on the rim. Ask what the fresh fish is, they will bring it out to show you what the choices are on a big... Wonderful authentic Mexican cuisine. Out of the way, so not visited by many tourists [per my waiter]. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was great, and reasonably priced. They had musicians and singers.

Visited Va Q' Va, for lunch on a weekend. I have eaten in several seafood restaurants in Mexico, and this one was average, food was bland; however I was impressed with the service. It was cheap based on Cancún standards.

At Va q Va youll find all the mexican seafood recepies .. including big platter that you can order to share.. the restaurant is located in downtown the only down side of it . a little to far into town, but if you can make it all the way . it will pay off.. great fast and clean! very local::

This place doesn't look ritzy from the outside, but ignore it's looks. The food is really, really good. We were taken there by Mexican friends and enjoyed every minute in there. The furniture is rustic and solid - heavy chairs and tables. The food is delicious and the portions large. For the four of us we had a platter the... More

Get out of the hotel zone and visit this restaurant. The food is good, the margaritas the best I had in Cancun and the atmosphere is incredible. Mexican band playing - the lot! My wife and I enjoyed the place so much we were sorry it was our last evening. However you need to be there by 6 pm as... More

I've visited Va Q' Va at least a few times while living in Cancun. The first time a Mexican friend invited me and I was pleasantly surprised. The next few times I took friends from Canada and some other tourists. I just want to point out a few things. This trip can be intimidating as it is actually in Cancun,... More

Va Q' Va is primarily a local neighborhood restaurant. DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU FROM GOING! Seating generally is contained in an outdoor tree covered patio (some seating available inside or upstairs). Wait staff is extremely friendly and gracious with limited English; however, they do have an English menu available. Fish, fish and more fish! What an incredible variety of... More

This restaurant is a gem out of the Hotel Zone! We were there for the first time in April with friends and then again May 1st. just the two of us! Arrive early for a late lunch or early supper! It is very busy with local families, couples and friends! I believe we may have been the only couple who's... More

Basic seafood, to far away for such simple menu., it is a long way to go for a fish dish. They were out of soup, but told us 15 minutes later.
