Was within walking distance of our resort The Westin Lagunamar- was pleasantly surprised as to how much bigger it appeared from the street- beautiful outside dining area lagoon-side with Mayan theme decor. Friendly greeting on arrival with courteous staff. Food was good, not fantastic, portions decent and price was reasonable. For 3 of us we paid $200- we had 2 appetizers,... More

La Habichuela Sunset has a really good menu delivered with culinary flare throughout. Examples include your amuse-bouche and salads prepared table side by the army of waiting staff. This was really well offset by the funky decor and generally relaxed ambience. The surf and turf was as you would hope and I enjoyed the soft shell crab appetiser although none... More

I have been too many Cancun restaurants over almost 30 years of visiting Cancun but this likely has to rate at the top. I don't often give five stars because I think nothing is perfection but this likely should be better than the four stars. The excellent service started at the door when we were met by the maitre d... The food was great and so was the service. The menu has a good variety. I ordered the lobster bisque, it was great! Boys got the surf and turf, they complained that they had difficulty peeling their shrimp but other than that , they enjoyed their food. For dessert everyone got a Mayan coffee. It was a liquor with a... More

We love the atmosphere of the old La Habichuela Restaurant, located in downtown Cancun, but this time we tried the restaurant in the Hotel Zone. The food is consistently good, but the prices have increased over the last time that we visited.

Great cuisine, ambiance outside under the stars, great service - although the staff is not particularly engaging - maybe because it was the day after the election.

My wife and i with 3 kids in tow (12, 10 and 7) arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm with no reservation and were seated right away. The place is beautiful, interior very clean and quite unique. Watch out for the glass floor! Kids had a great time looking around but an even better time sitting outside by the... More

Four of us celebrated our sister's 60th birthday at this wonderful restaurant with stunning sunset views. La Habichuela Sunset had exquisite and delicious food, excellent service and staff, and a magical setting with indoor or outside seating. Lovely twinkling lights could make this an ideal wedding reception setting too. There is even an optional Mayan show some nights, which we... More

Four of us went to this restaurant for dinner. We were drawn to for it's beautiful location on the water and the decor. We should have done more research on the food. None of us were able to rave about how wonderful our dinners were. Many of the items on the menu they did not even have. I was all... More

La Habichuela Sunset
Surpasses your expectations.
Welcome: A unforgettable sunset awaits you.
They say its a museum turned into a restaurant. Aside from its bold and modern arquitechture, the ambiance is based on the mayan culture with the intent of giving our customers a unique experience surrounded by masks of ancient kings, a 9 meter mayan column from floor to ceiling and a 30 meter hand carved kukulkan wooden snake. Our open garden area next to the lagoon allows you to dine with the stars and the moon.
But our biggest pride being our exquisite dishes, from traditional yucatecan recipes to sophisticated caribbean/mexican fusions. We have a vast variety of international wines as well as national.
We follow and maintain our founders philosophy of providing prompt and detailed service since 1977.
Dont miss our mayan rituals shows during the week that will transport you in time to the ancient mayan civilization.
