We had a lovely evening in this beautiful restaurant overlooking the lagoon. We had eaten at the original restaurant in Cancun City on a previous trip and were excited to learn that the Sunset had opened within a short walk of where we were staying. We were warmly welcomed and given our choice of seating as we were early. Since... More

Experienced this tourist trap once. Never need to go back. Once you've seen one Mayan Show, you've seen them all. The service was terrible. Just because the waiter complains how busy he is, does not make up for terrible service and overcooked, cold food. Been there, done that.

We stopped in one day while shopping along the avenue for a quick bite and drink. We had the oasis tuna tartare, chips and guac and mojitos. The service was very fast and attentive, the venue is clean and visually appealing. The food was so good, we wanted to come back for dinner (didn't get the chance sadly). The mojiots... More

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely, attentive lunch one afternoon. The restaurant is beautiful & sits on the lagoon. It was mid-day & we had the place to ourselves. Service was attentive & very helpful as our waiter knew exactly which foods were gluten-free & guided me in my choices. Tuna tartar was a wonderful choice for an appetizer.... More

Happened onto this restaurant by mistake and decided to give it a try. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. The waiters were very attentive. My lobster tail was delicious! Sit in the outdoors patio, with a beautiful view looking back at the Mayan architecture of the restaurant. A definite recommend!

The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. During my vacation in Cancun I went there for my birthday dinner and Louis was our server. His service was out of this world. He was attentive and checked on us multiple times. After our dinner, he brought a chocolate cake for free because of my birthday. The cake was so... More

Inside and out this restaurant has an elegant atmosphere. We chose to eat inside due to the strong breeze outside, but we could still hear the jazz combo on the patio and they were very good. Our table overlooked the patio, and its white wrought iron chairs, white atmosphere lights and garden-like plantings looked so charming we wished the breeze... More

Went with family for a birthday dinner. The food was authentic with some good seafood choices. Also beef and chicken dishes as well. We were early and disappointed that they had already run out of the daily special (grouper). Wondered why the told us about it when they no longer had it but other grouper dishes were available. Everyone in... More

Was going back and forth between 3 and 4 rating. Good food and good serivice. Prices a little high. I am thinking because it is in the hotel zone. I would recommend it, consider trying the down town location. We both had beef entrees. Prepared very well.

We went on a Friday night when they have the Mayan dance show. The show is free which is a good thing. We came for the food and the pretty view not the show.

La Habichuela Sunset
Surpasses your expectations.
Welcome: A unforgettable sunset awaits you.
They say its a museum turned into a restaurant. Aside from its bold and modern arquitechture, the ambiance is based on the mayan culture with the intent of giving our customers a unique experience surrounded by masks of ancient kings, a 9 meter mayan column from floor to ceiling and a 30 meter hand carved kukulkan wooden snake. Our open garden area next to the lagoon allows you to dine with the stars and the moon.
But our biggest pride being our exquisite dishes, from traditional yucatecan recipes to sophisticated caribbean/mexican fusions. We have a vast variety of international wines as well as national.
We follow and maintain our founders philosophy of providing prompt and detailed service since 1977.
Dont miss our mayan rituals shows during the week that will transport you in time to the ancient mayan civilization.
