My friends and I had a quick lunch at Tierradentro, a place with an atmosphere that recalls Zapata with murales and paintings. The food is average, we had tacos and quesadillas. Service is good. Toilet should be cleaned better and more frequently.

TierrAdentro is the perfect way to live an important aspect of Chiapas: being a restaurant which support the zapatist community, it gives the chance informally and uncomplicately to get in touch with a movement that changed and still changes the shape of this Country. Simple...More

Quite laid back and bohemian centrally located in the "Andandor Guadalupe" about half a block from the town square and Cathedral. This place is full of posters and subversive propaganda of the EZLN and has a large indoor patio. I was told it was a...More

Located on one of the andador streets, the restaurant served a number of basic but good mexican dishes. The service was prompt. The real draw are the Zapatista photos and memorabilia which adorn the restaurant.

I went there 2 times, it was recommended by the guys of hostel. It was a really good dinner, traditional dishes and really tasty. The price is cheap for a sort of restaurant. Highly recommended

Great place to sit with a laptop and while away the hours. Coffee is very good and service is great. Had some gentle live music both times I visited. Bookshop inside is good too

We had dinner and lunch here. The food is okayish to good, nothing too special. The place has a nice setup of tables (atrium-like), but the staff isn't too fast. Plus for a good choice of Salsas with free bread and tasty coffee variations.

We were walking and we looked at various restaurants and this looked good so we got in. I ordered a "Quesadilla with nopales and arrachera" and an aztec soup. The quesadilla was really good with a huge tortilla, I would advice getting this as it...More

The service was really good but the food is just average, there are many other better options to eat.

A good breakfast is the approximate equivalent of $5.00 USD and lunch or dinner is a slight bit more at approximately $6.00 - $10.00. A good bang for your dollar as the food (and pizza) is excellent and the atmosphere is... More

Description
Excellent, tasty Mexican food of many types, including authentic Chiapaneca food. This restaurant is run by Zapatistas and there are several tiendas around the eating area selling products from Zapatista villages. Free WiFi, very good music (both live and recorded,) nice ambiance. The NY Times says it has a fixed price meal for $30 --- WRONG!! You can eat well for $ 10 and nearly as well for $ 7.00 USD.
