In the four weeks we've been in Mexico we've had much better soups and for 10-20 pesos less. The soups weren't bad they just weren't anything special unfortunately.

I liked this place. The pozole was really good. I couldn't finish it, which is unusual. This restaurant is popular with the locals, which says a lot. Service is fast and friendly. They give you some delicious salsas, chips, and frijoles with your meal. Reasonably priced, with a good variety of interesting and tasty looking meals.

Food was really amazing, the portions are as huge as the owners heart, he kindly served 2 kids that were hungry even as he knew he would not get paid for that, he has our respect and admiration, great job!

This place serves great traditional soups like caldo de pollo and caldo de rez. If you enjoy soups this is one of the best places I have been in San Cristobal. Be prepared because it can be crowed on the weekends and there is often a wait for a table.

This is my go-to spot for a healthy and super satisfying meal. The Tlapeño is filled with healthy veggies and chicken, and I love the fresh avocado and cilantro they provide. Also, they put some kind of yummy magic in the bean and tostado appetizer, complimentary with your meal. I'm very concerned about getting sick at restaurants in San Cristobal... More

Very nice place next to main place of San cristobal. Only Caldos, for any taste, meats and vegetables, together with rice, aguacate, tortillas. Recommended!

I've been to this restaurant quite a lot, the now in downtown. Last weekend tried the new one right at the exit to Tuxtla. I went there with my family, waited for 30min to be seated, the tables were empty but they needed to be cleaned. After we were seated, we waited for the waiter to come and take our... More

I ate the Caldero dish which was nice as well as big. My girlfriends dish lacked flavour though hence the 3 stars. The place is really busy with locals and the staff are rushed. However for the price it is cheap and service is fine.

We visited San Cristobal in March so the nights were still pretty cold and we had both been felling a little ill, so a trip to El Cadero for a hearty, warming soup was the most prefect meal. The soups are big and super tasty I totally recommend eating here if you head to San Cristobal.

Three of us went here for lunch on the recommendation of our tour guide. Excellent! A choice of about ten base soups with accompaniments that you tip in to measures of your taste. Really good and filling at around 60 Mexican dollars. Not much space for covers but turnover is fast. Definitely worth the wait
