I think this was up there as being one of the best meals we had in Mexico. It was a Saturday afternoon, seated in the courtyard. Service was spot on. They make the salsa in front of you to you taste. We tried four different courses - the beetroot salad was delicious. Followed by tacos, cannelloni and chocolate profiteroles. Oh... More

We had a beautiful evening with fine dining on the rooftop of this restaurant. The view of Santo Domingo from the roof is outstanding. Both the food and service were outstanding. Great moles and suckling pig. Highly recommended!

No doubt about it, this restaurant serves up amazing food. However, and it's a BIG however, the waiter assigned to our table was distracted, discourteous and so abrupt in his interactions that it seriously distracted from our experience. The food: fabulous salsa made table-side; a delicious ceviche; veal tongue with mole unlike anything I have ever tasted (fantastic); and sea... More

I underestimated the distance from the city center to Casa Oaxaca Café ( I was walking), as a result of which I arrived there extra famished! Situated in a residential neighborhood (as opposed to beautiful but touristy Zocalo and City Center) the restaurant was already busy at 9 in the morning and filled with Locals, which I took to be... I highly recommend that you make a reservation as soon as you know your dates. I was lucky as I was solo and opted to eat in the main lobby area. The service was just as great but I did not get to see the rooftop. The food and wine were incredible. Worth the wait! It is expensive compared to... More

Meal of a lifetime, if you like Mexican/Oaxacan food, like anything with mole. Beautiful presentation, lovely setting (rooftop overlooking Iglesia Santo Domingo). A bit of a splurge by typical Oaxacan prices, but a bargain compared to same quality and ambiance in the US.

I enjoyed my meal here very much. The service was very attentive, the ambience was light and airy in the garden section, and the food was great. They make your salsa tableside according to your spiciness preferences, and it was such an experience to watch and so so good. I got a few dishes, all of which were very tasty.... More

Perfect place for a fine regional breakfast should try the omelets and also the "pan dulce" with a chocolate. Also, new combo options are great for those who wants everything in one place

A friend and I were looking for an evening rooftop dining experience after spending 2 hours waiting for and watching the last Guelaguetza parade nearby. We spied the rooftop tables of Casa Oaxaca Cafe and popped in to ask if a table was available. We got lucky and were seated quickly without a reservation. We ordered Margaritas and watched as... Ok, this is not the typical tourist place you are looking for. I have been there every Sunday at 10:00 am and it`s filling up with local people having their breakfast. The type of breakfast is typical mexican breakfast very tasty and sometimes with hot salsa and I think this could be a little bit strange for the foreign tourist.... More
