I make this place one of my "homes" whenever I'm lucky enough to be in Oaxaca. I have always enjoyed the food, the hot chocolate, and the company. I'm not a big fan of the term "ambience" but yes, I appreciate the ambience here. It's a good place to sit and observe, too, and/or sit and write. And did I... More

The service is unbearably slow. The wifi is unbearably slow. The food is passable. It has the most mosquitoes of anywhere in Oaxaca. The good thing is that it's one of few places open on a Sunday.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a Sunday morning when the restaurant that we had planned to go to was closed. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and while good, they were smothered in a tomato sauce that we found odd. We are used to a more salsa type sauce. Not overly impressed. Of course, this is only 1 item on... More

We stopped in for lunch and found a small restaurant with additional tables set up in a small quiet courtyard. We shared a large delicious chicken salad full of fresh vegetables along with a mango lassi and café frio. The food was fresh with generous portions and affordable. Both drinks were excellent! It's a small place centrally located and well... More

I went there for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs which came with friedbeans, bread, fresh orange juce and coffee. The food was good, but the coffe tasted watery. They have a coffee machine and maybe the coffee from the machine might taste better. We never went back to find out.

I discovered Cafe Los Cuiles based on other reviews - it's terrific! The location is just a half block off of the main promenade street, and it's a simple, relaxed cafe with delicious food and, of course, wonderful coffee. The staff was polite and attentive. It was instantly my favorite little hidden gem in Oaxaca. I just wish I'd found... More

In a little courtyard near Plaza Santo Domingo. Good lunch options such as a garlicky humus, avocado stuff with tuna salad in addition to fruit salads and smoothies.

I stayed for almost two weeks at the Posada Margarita just behind Los Cuiles and so I probably had something there every day. It is the perfect place to begin the day, close out the evening or take a break anytime.

We stumbled upon this cafe as we were walking around Centro. We sat in the courtyard and while we waited for our food we browsed the nearby shops. The service was okay, neither quick nor as painfully slow as other reviewers have experienced. We were sat by the kitchen and the staff appeared to be having a wonderful time as... More
