We just sat down for a coffee and decided to share some cheesecake. Wow, that we the worst decision ever. It was probably a week old, with a plastic-like later of old sugar on top. Absolutely gross. The coffee was five, nothing spectacular.

The only outstanding feature is the location. Go upstairs otherwise you'll get all kinds of soliciting. Is more a dinner than a typical oaxaca restaurant. You can ger from a cheeseburger to grasshoppers. And all of it is average good. Eats cheap.

Del Jardin is a fine spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. cacahuates and spiced vegetables come with your drink order. there is a lot going on in the zocalo, so this is a great place to sit and watch the actibity.

We dropped by Del Jardin on several occasions during our 2 week stay in Oaxaca and enjoyed a cold Victoria beer or limonada served with their complimentary peanuts. It was the perfect place to watch the activities taking place each day in the Zócalo (eg. music, parades, people). Note: you will be approached frequently by vendors but with a polite,... More

Del Jarden sits right on Oaxaca' s zocolo. They have a dinning area outside and inside the restaurant. We sat outside the restaurant. That was a mistake. We experienced a steady stream of beggars, trinket sellers and musicians, all begging for money. This place like all of the restaurants on the xocalo is a tourist trap. While the food was... More

The location is amazing but the food and service is just average. Just try a beer or a coffee to watch people pass by.

Better than many...a place to sit and watch the diversity that is Oaxaca. It's worth a return visit.

Walked in at 2pm Xmas day. Empty tables outside, completely empty inside. Asked the bartender if we could have drinks and watch a game. He said sure. Brought us the drinks. Minutes later, before we'd had time to reorder drinks, a woman came over and said it was time to order food. We explained that we'd just eaten and were... More

I have sat at one of these tables enjoying breakfast or a coffee more times than I can imagine over many years, watching life pass by in the Zocalo and chatting with the vendors, waiters, children, musicians, and others. I don´t come for the food, obviously, there is better elsewhere. But, it is a part of Oaxaca not to be... More

Bar Jardín is a classic spot for people of Oaxaca. Maybe it is because is located on perhaps, one of the most important place in the city, el Zocalo, with a view of the Palacio de Gobierno. The food is good, if you know what to ask (Tortas de Chile Relleno my favorite) and you can drink a cool beer... More
