Pricey but Excellent authentic Mexican food. Restaurant set in a beautiful colonial style building on an open air patio with ample shades. Well decorated with Mexican arts.

We visited Mexico City thanksgiving weekend and had dinner at Azul on Sunday night and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was wonderful. My college daughter enjoyed the sparkling limeade. My mojito hit the spot. My honey's beer was ice cold. The main course was delicious and the dessert was too. The ambience in the evening was peaceful. We didn't stay... More

This was a fantastic experience overall. We ordered the squash blossom soup as well as the venison appetizer to start, followed by the mole negro and the short rib. We enjoyed the appetizers, the mole was the best of my husband's life and the short rib was delicious. The atmosphere inside the courtyard is beautiful and the service was outstanding.... More

We ordered empanadas de chaya, enchiladas de jamaica, and enchiladas de mole negra. All were delicious. The mole was absolutely amazing; so rich and flavorful. I might be... More

We visited some museums in Zocalo area and visited this restaurant for lunch. The atmosphere is beautiful, is a courtyard of a historic building with a huge tree in the middle, candle lights hanging everywhere, it is beautiful. With a lot of small stores in the second floor to visit while you wait for your table. The food was delicious... More

Was in Mexico City for a short business trip. Azul Historico came highly suggested. So on the last night we made it to the restaurant after a brief walk through the main plaza nearby. Upfront reservation is key. From the appetizers to the desserts it was a Home Run. I had the Roasted Duck. It was magical... It was in... More
