After not going there for many years I returned last week for a business dinner, and was positively surprised. Unlike the San Angel Inn, which is a beautiful place with very regular food, the meal we had in Hacienda Morales was excellent. I had a scallop carpaccio and as a main course the chile stuffed with crab meat - delicious.

This place has lost none of its charm from what I remember over 40 years ago. The service is outstanding with live music and an excellent variety of dishes. Very European Old world elegance. An evening that you will remember. Not cheap but worth the visit,

Our group from the Art Institute of Chicago had our farewell dinner here. It is a fascinating building -- you walk up a brick courtyard incline to get to it. Then you pass through several "rooms" "passages" to get to the dining location. All of this traverse is very interesting. The food was outstanding served by a friendly, helpful waitstaff.... More

Anyone visiting Mexico City that does not take the time to dine at La Hacienda De Los Morales has short changed their trip. The building alone is worth the visit but when combined with the food, drinks, service and the grounds you get the entire package. I have made a number of trip to Mexico City in the past few... Loved this place! My new favorite restaurant in Mexico City. The restaurant is set in a series of buildings that was part of a 16th Century hacienda (you can read about the history on the website or in its menus.) I was stunned by the loveliness of the decor and the historical ambiance. Food was great too, very authentic Mexican.... More

Wow, talking about nice places to eat in Mexico City. This was really a very nice, elegant restaurant. We celebrated my niece's wedding anniversary and I most say, best place for such a especial occasion. The food was out of this world and the service was high class. I give it a 5.

This was my second visit to Hacienda de Los Morales and I hope it won't be my last. This is such a fun restaurant - it's fancy, always has tables available, good food, great service, and the atmosphere is just what you'd hope and expect for a Polanco restaurant. We love how the meal is staged out, and I guess... More

Noting other reviewers criticized service, I have to say we found staff to be very attentive, they did not rush to provide steps from one course to another but it was set as the meal was the event for the evening. We started with beverages, were brought an appetizer selected by the chef, and breads of our choice. We all... More

Wonderful restaurant located in Polanco, a late Hacienda transformed in a Restautant since 1967. Service is superb, but food is only ok. Mexican specialties gusanos, escamole and chapulines are excellent but arrechras are avoidable. If you have the chance to try the lobster quiche and the tortilla soup are worth the trip.

Description
During colonial times la Hacienda de los Morales was located on the outskirts of Mexico City, but today it is within its confines, only a short distance from the exclusive hotels, museums and shops of Polanco. This stately mansion, a recipient of numerous awards including the 5 Diamond and the Dirona Awards, and the Executive Chef Alejandro Heredia Resendiz named Mexican Chef of the 20th Century by the Cullinary Academy of France, transports visitors to another era in a refined atmosphere where the hospitality and service make every moment a memorable one. In addition to the international menu with Mexican specialties, there are several Gastronomic Festivals each year with the participation of such outstanding establishments as I Chiostri di Firenze, Las Ventanas al Paraiso, The Lobster Festival Puerto Nuevo Style, and Il Milanese Curioso. This formal restaurant is open except Easter week and official Holidays. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie after 6:00 pm.
