Decent food, but nothing special. The enchiladas mineras were quite good though. The best thing is that they have tables on the Plaza San Fernando so it's nice to sit there in the sun for lunch or breakfast (they're abut the only restaurant with morning sun).

We think Cerro de las Ranas is popular for two reasons - a good location on a pleasant square and inexpensive beer (30 pesos). We had poor service in four ways. 1) The bottle of mineral water I was served was filthy (on the outside), covered with some fibrous organic matter. I cleaned it myself waited many minutes for our... Even though the place was full, it left us very disappointed. The service was ok but they didn't have a ton of stuff from the menu and the food was AWFULL.

It took them about 20 minutes before asking us if we want anything to drink and there weren't that many people. That should have been a warning for what's coming next! The food was pretty bland. The location was nice though and at least, as undesirable the bathroom was, at least we got to use it for free. We won't... More

Thought the place would be pretty good considering how many people were eating there. Was disappointed by the average food and slow service. Took a while for someone to take our order let alone ask what drinks we wanted. It would have been worth it if the food was great but it was unimpressive, although someone in our group ordered... . . . by young men (three in total, at different times) selling tickets for the evening activities in the callejones, a guy wanting to sell candy, a guy just asking for a handout, a trio of musicians, a singing guy with a guitar that stood three feet away and bellowed, only to have a woman playing a violin come... Just dropped in for a little bite in the evening. The sangria was very good. Also was the live music. Nice spot at a very cosy square.

After reading all the reviews I was frightened to est here but I gave it a shot. What on earth are the bad reviewers expecting?? New York dinning? Guanajuato is not royal dinning. There are options and this is an inexpensive one. Ordered guacamole and 2 enchiladas mineras and they were just fine. Service was fast. So I can't say... More

The food we order took FOREVER. When we finally got it it was lacking several ingredients as they didn't have them anymore. A salad that was supposed to have a variety of vegetables was only lettuce with lots of black spots (disgusting). My boyfriend onderex enchiladas and they tested rancid or old. We tried to ask the waitress to add... More
