We are a family business for over 20 years we were located within the Airport Zihuatanejo, the business was called "Snack Bar - El Mirador"; but in 2008 we decided to leave the anonymity and moved to town with a new "Carmelite Cafe" concept. The mission of Carmen and Don Jesus was always clear, offer our customers the best dining experience in Zihuatanejo. During these years we have been aware of the importance of treating our guests like family. We pride ourselves everyday to trust Cafe Carmelites to treat at home; therefore, we insist that the recipes of Mrs. Carmelita, always keep the flavor of the Mexican family kitchen. We will always have an eye to providing the best quality in each of…
We had a wonderful visit to Caremlitas for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and the food amazing! The coffee was delicious. We had the best chilaquiles, very fresh and tasty! Save room for a cinnamon roll or get it to go.
Started well with a nice welcome and comfortable spot in a well-maintained and landscaped outdoor setting. The service across the board was so wonderful and attentive. Meal was freshly prepared with great flavor combination of fresh ingredients.
Slightly expensive by Zihuatanejo standards, but by far the best Mexican restaurant in town. We particularly liked the breakfasts, but everything, all day, is excellent. For a special treat try the cinnamon rolls.
Look at Carmelita's photo and you know what you get: genuine, friendly service and great, great food - all at a reasonable price. Hey, Carmelita, next time I want us to take a photo and have you add it to your gallery. :)
Stopped for breakfast recommendations from our tour guide Lewis La Maza, one of the best breakfasts we had in Zihuatanejo this year, they had traditional food also local food at a very reasonable price.

Such a cute place! We were greeted by friendly smiles and sat immediately. We got there at lunch time and we were ravenous. It was a hot day so we started off with some fresh fruit drinks. We told our server how hungry we were...and she recommended the perfect meal for us. We both ordered our own plate and then we got this delicious Mole dish for the middle of the table. We finished it all!! Then we decided to walk off our meal by walking all the way to the beach. We highly recommend eating here.More

We used to have dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10 pm, but now we are only open for breakfast and lunch, from 8am to 4:30 every day; except for Sundays, we close at 3pm.
