I LOVE mole, and this restaurant serves three styles of it, all delicious. There are also vegetarian options, which we appreciated. My husband wasn't as taken as I was, which is why I give 4 stars rather than 5.

I hadn't seen my cousin for 15 years, through Facebook, we discovered we were both in Puerto Vallarta. We agreed to meet at El Mole de Jovita, what an excellent choice. You were given several variations of Mole, all wonderful. I had the Chili Releno, with traditional Mole; I savored every bite. Delish! Two days later, we decided to return... More

While mole is a famous (and justly so) dish of Mexico, its complexity and lengthy preparation mean that not all restaurants care to invest in the effort required to present it as their regular fare. El Mole de Jovita, located in PV's restaurant row (Basilio Badillo) not only features the dish, but offers several variations. And, best of all, you... More

Every year I stop here for the fantastic mole. There are a different variety and types of mole. All are delicious. Ask for different types on one dish for a variety of tastes. The owners mother makes it from scratch and is as authentic as you can get. The staff are friendly and attentive and the location is great to... More

I had tasted Mole once or twice but never got to know the varieties available. Here, the first thing you get on your table is a three samples of Mole with Taco chips. The dark brown is an unsweetened chocolate but very rich and tasty. It does have a hint of chocolate but overall is a pleasant sauce that goes... More

It's harder than you think to find authentic Mexican food in downtown Puerto Vallarta. We loved that they brought out three samples of the moles being served and gave an explanation of each. The service was very friendly and wanted to make everyone happy, which we were!

This place fills a need. We live in Seattle and have been unable to find decent black mole at any of the hundreds of so called Mexican restaurants in the area. Good Black Mole can be hard to find in Vallarta as well. El Mole De Jovita is equal to the best I have ever tasted. I will be back... More

Friends had sampled this restaurant's mole the night before, and convinced a group of 6 of us to have dinner there the following day. The staff impressed all of us with their friendliness, enthusiasm for the menu, and their willingness to bring samples to the table so each of us would be happy with our selections. I think each of... More

It has been several years since we ate here and the Mole is still excellent. Unfortunately for me either the Tortilla Soup (which was excellent) or the Mole caused my Acid Re flux to act up so I guess you could say I paid for the meal twice. Not to much ambiance here but the food is very good.

Description
A mexican restaurant with autentic mexican food, the special is the mole sauce witch is made like in the past, an artesian mole that takes over a week to prepare, unique texture and a chocolate taste at the end. A very house warming atmosphere, and always a good service taken by the owners themself.
