Not cheap but we knew that before going. Good service. Disappointed they called my salad a beet salad when there was 4 or 5 small halves of beets. My son said his ceasar salad was smallest he'd seen. He ordered the oysters and squid. Was delish so was my beef fillet. Each had a handcrafted cocktail which was overpriced for Mexico. Had wine with my entree. Highlight was the waiter's 6 min show of the Mexican coffee. Loved watching it and it was good! We sat overlooking the Plaza Machado. Loved the whole experience and would go back.

I went with my family solely for sitting at a restaurant with a great view, but the everything surpassed our expectations. The service was very good and the servers were very friendly and helpful. However, the most unforgettable thing about this restaurant was the food. I highly recommend the grilled octopus. Price wise I think it's fair in compare to overpriced restaurants in the touristy places, although you can't expect American portions if you think one dish per person will be good enough!

Casa 46 is such a wonderful, up-scale dining experience. We always love the food and the ambience is perfect for adults to enjoy above the Plaza Machado, giving you a real Mazatlan experience. Alfonso is a fabulous waiter, accommodating and professional. He makes great suggestions. Ramon is the bartender who makes the basil tequila drink -- a different but terrific way to enjoy tequila. We can't recommend Casa 46 too highly; we always take guests and hear only rave reviews.

We ordered what was meant to be a traditional Mexican meal and what we got was a glorified hamburger, and not all that good to boot. One ordered the lamb shank and was pretty sure it was not lamb but pork with perhaps a beef gravy sauce. Wine priced out of this world however the service was good. This was the third time we have visited and each time the food was at best so so and expensive. The location is great overlooking the Machado but if you are looking for a great meal probably isn't going to happen.

As guests of Pueblo Bonito Resorts, this restaurant is part of the all inclusive for $15 each. It is also open to the public. It is located upstairs in a former colonial mansion right overlooking Plaza Machado. My wfe and I are vegetarians, but were with a couple who are serious meat eaters. We were all extremely happy with the food and service. I can't really comment on the value since it was a flat fee for us. (read my review of the Pueblo Bonito if you are interested in an all inclusive stay). The locations is perfect on the Plaza, but it might be a little noisey if there is an event, which is often. The patio is mostly enclosed with glass, so it is still quiet. It is a $150 peso taxi ride from the Golden Zone each way, and it's a fairly long ride. So use the washroom one last time before you head back! Regarding WiFi - as soon as you enter a restuarant get your server to enter the passwore - problem solved, and they are happy to help.

We loved eating at Casa 46 in past years, even celebrating our 50th anniversary there. This time we did not have a good experience. We were basically ignored by our waiter once our food was served.
My steak was perfectly prepared, but the sides were tasteless and served cold. My husband ordered the pork confit. His confit was perfect, his sides were tasteless and cold.
We wanted to order dessert, but our waiter ignored us.
We hope this review will be taken seriously by Casa 46, so they will again provide the excellent food snd service expected.

I have been an owner of pueblo bonito emerald bay for 16 years. I come almost every year. Each year since Casa 46 opened the food quality has improved. This year it took over 15 mins before someone ask if we wanted a cocktail , my wife`s order was wrong so I was 1/2 finished before her food arrived , the restaurant below was playing music so loud we couldn't even talk. Not a place I will go again to spend Hundreds on dinner.

We ate here as a small party of 3 and returned for a birthday party of 12. Very different experience on the big group. While we had excellent service and food when dining with only 3, the large group service and food was disappointing. This location in the plaza is wonderful. To be sitting high and being able to enjoy the festivities and music below is a real treat. Too bad we didn't have the same kind of experience for the birthday party as the private party. Still, we would return. Just not in a large group.

Main feature of this restaurant is without doubt its commanding view from the
high second floor overlooking the Plaza Machado.Furnishings and general decor provide a sense of quiet elegance in direct contrast to the colourful market place in the square and frequent break dancers in the foreground of the Plaza.Menu includes favourite Mexican dishes, seafood and bbq's accompanied with top end wines and spirits. In the rear there's a tasting room, and other smaller private spaces and small bar.Smallish servings, market prices . Public parking nearby . Staircase at street entry

We have dined at Casa 46 since it opened several years ago. The food is generally good and occasionally great. The service at Casa 46 has always suffered from a young and generally inexperienced wait staff-attentive but not ready for prime time.
Go to Casa 46 specifically to dine on the restaurant’s covered terrace. IMHO there is little point in paying the elevated prices and not enjoy the terrace view of the plaza below. Good food, average service, great dining experience from the terrace.

Overlooking the Plaza Machado we have had 3 fantastic “slow” meals over the last few weeks. These folks have an attention to detail that makes a night out something to remember. My favorite is the ravioli with a lovely Sauvignon Blanc. Our waiter Francisco makes the evening very calm and relaxed. We highly recommend Casa 46 if you want a high end dinner at a reasonable price. Thank you Anna Maria and all the staff for welcoming us each time to Casa 46.

We ate here as a group following a city tour with Eduardo departing from Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. The waitstaff, drinks and food were very good and I considered it a gourmet menu. We especially loved the poblano pepper cream soup!
It was also very lovely to eat on the porch overlooking a beautiful town square.

Wonderful food, excellent service and a fantastic panaramic view, if you want outside dining. Some small cosy rooms are also available inside for a more intimate fine dining experience. Smart casual attire is recommended, but you can go fancier if you wish as well.

We have enjoyed Casa 46 for the last six years! We love the ambience, the food, the service, especially on Sunday evenings when the Machada is busy!
This visit we saw a different menu. We miss a few of our favorites, but enjoyed trying new selections. The food continues to be outstanding. The service this visit is less than the norm for Casa 46. We saw no familiar faces; we saw no one who spoke or understood much English and I am limited w Spanish. It was very chilly and I let them know that, she seemed to understand, but we were glad we brought a sweater! We enjoy the rustic bread and tomato butter - this time we were not served it, though other tables around us had it. We received an addl appetizer that we did not order, but gladly enjoyed and paid for -chalking it up to poor communication between myself and the waiter. Our espresso is usually presented on a rectangular marbletray decorated w coffee beans, etc. this time they handed us an espresso cup, not even a saucer or demitasse spoon - it was delicious as usual, but lacked the special presentation that we’ve come to expect (and enjoy!). They did not even offer cream. Our water was never filled, I finally asked and they brought water. I would have liked to have a conversation about our service, but never made contact w anyone there who I felt I could have a successful conversation with.
In summation, we’ll visit Casa 46 on our next trip. Hopefully this experience is isolated and the service is back to norm!
