After a really good breakfast here, we returned for dinner the same day. This place is well established with good food. It's a quiet, small treasure amongst all the tourist trap places along Revolucion. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Interesting history on the walls; most relating to bull-fighting.

Excellent casual service. Spanish tapas and comida presented in a well established restaurant in TJ. Nearly 70 years of service was confirmed during our meal. Calimari frita was lightly breaded and super hot. And the paella......ay the paella. Well prepared and presented. Nothing more. Ni menos.

This tourist-trap of a street is lined with sketchy shops and restaurants. We were very pleased to find Restaurante Chiki Jai, it's a real restaurant, clean and comfortable, with excellent food made to order. Not a taco joint - the food seems more Spanish than what we think of as stereotypical Mexican. We had two different fish dishes plus appetizers... More

The paella was good, the borrego (goat) was tasty with the bread. 120 pesos or about 9 dollars for paella. They give you a big basket of free bread. I didn't see blue cheese.

Hard to believe that in a city like Tijuana that's growing so fast and furiously an establishment has managed to stay open continuously since the 1940s, especially when you consider it was built to support and tie into Jai-Alai games that took place across the street. Jai-Alai hasn't been played in Tijuana since the 1970s and yet Chiki Jai perseveres.... More

My girlfriends and I ventured into Tijuana after not being there is a very long time. Strolling Avenida Revolucion we asked several people where they would recommend we go to eat. Everyone of them said Caesars where the original Caesar Salad was invented, a good choice, but we wanted something different. Someone recommended Chiki Jai, a small Spanish Basque restaurant.... This place surprised me. I haven't been in TJ for over 20 years and was surprised to see that it lost much of its old world charm. I kinda missed the cobbled streets and bazaar feel of the former Tijuana. I had no intention of visiting, but came here as a favor to my French friends who were visiting LA.... More

Or maybe bacalao? how about some spanish favada? nestled on the corner of 7th ave and Revolution this delightful little secret used to host all the stars of Hollywood's golden age. Come enjoy some good wine with the best company and hospitality you can muster, this place is perfect after a bull fight or downtown stroll.
