I grew up in New England. Sometimes I just crave Chinese food. This place is the fix. Old-fashioned and familiar. It's exactly what I want when I want Beef and broccoli or general tso's chicken. Quality of meats could be better, even if it means raising some prices. Wait staff is friendly and on point. Beers are super cold, portions... More

We were excited to see a Chinese restaurant in la paz as cabo san lucas did not show any in TripAdvisor. Has lots of veg options such as vegetarian tofu and sautéed vegetable options, noodles and fried rice. The food rice portion size was huge. The vegetables were fresh and the sauce was like teriyaki sauce. The Mandarin soup was... More

An old style typical western Chinese restaurant with a decoration from the 80's with no update. The food is bad and old in the same way as the decor. The fried rice didn't have a single vegetable, was bland and tasted like leftovers from last week. The spring rolls were greasy and bland. The duck was immersed in plum sauce... More

We ordered simple fare, fried rice and chow mien, for our lunch here, our first visit. We had a lemonade and a pot of green tea to drink. The restaurant adjoins a hotel along the waterfront, across from the Malecon, with a lovely view of turquoise waters. There are pleasant Chinese style decorations including lanterns, red pillars and wood carvings.... More

We ate here when we visited 16 years ago with the same couple that travelled with us then. The food is still very good, and the service is excellent! We ate here for both our suppers in La Paz and plan to do so again when we visit!

Was working in La Paz, solo diner. needed a quiet place to eat and read. Pekin was awesome. a real throw-back for this New Yorker to be in a kitchy Chinese restaurant. Food was spot on- some creative appetizers. Great value - I ate left-overs for days. Waiter was SUPER nice and friendly. Will definitely go back on my next... More

We ordered the appetizer plate which was a pile of thickly breaded and likely twice reheated/refried pieces of unidetifiable meat, 2 shrimp and 4 very greasy eggrolls. It all looked and tasted old and bland. The main courses were seafood chow mein and the seafood combo, thinking that it would make a nice change of flavour from the mexican, excellent... More

If you're a fan of North American supermarket Chinese food, you'll probably find Nuevo Pekin quite acceptable. Glutinous sauces, tasteless fried rice, and overcooked meat seem to be the standard fare. With so many excellent seafood restaurants and good Cal-Mex or Tex-Mex food available, I don't see why anyone would choose to eat here.

Always wanted to try this place as I have been coming to La Paz for the last 6 years and was seeking something different. Came here after dinner & had the appetizer plate which was the real deal. I'll go here again.

Well priced. Had a tofu dish and it had lots of flavor. I will definitely go back for more. Luckily it is very close to my home.
