If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine cooked to perfection then look no further. The seafood and meat are expertly cooked over the charcoal grill, accompanied by the most delicious lemon potatoes and a perfectly dressed Greek salad. Don't forget to leave room for some home made Galaktoboureko for dessert. The friendly staff and welcoming environment are the icing on the cake. The multiple function areas are such a versatile space for any function. If you want to feel like you're in a Greek village ask to be seated in Dimitri's garden.

We got our timing wrong. We arrived in Yarraville when nearly every place was still closed, some open for breakfast/brunch, others slowly preparing for lunch. We wanted a nice pasta but we were too early.
By accident, we stumbled upon Eleni's.
As it turns out, our luck was in.
This Greek restaurant had a variety of food not often seen, not even in the traditional Greek areas on the other side of town (where we normally go.)
We had exceptional scallops in olive oil with garlic, with spring onions delicately tossed throughout. We had very nice meatballs in a sauce that we could not determine, but it was good. The cake display (some made on premises and some perhaps made elsewhere) were exceptional - works of food art.
And our waiter - what a friendly and helpful person. He was excellent.
When we left, we were satiated. We said no dinner tonight. So what did we do tonight? We had pasta, which was our lunch plan, the plan that got away.

We had lunch here on Sunday. We’ve dined here a few times over the years but I don’t think I have ever left a review.
We always find the experience here can be a bit hit and miss. But yesterday we had all hits. But given we sometimes leave feeling underwhelmed, I thought a 4/5 star review was fair.
Yesterday the service was good. The entrees were delicious. The meat platter for 2 was great value for money - we couldn’t finish all the meat. Oh - the skodalia was beautifully garlicky (entree special scallops and skodalia).
No complaints on the experience yesterday.
Delicious Greek food.

Disappointing.
Not a difficult request ....’may I order the mixed plate with cheese or anything vegetarian instead of the meat’ A frightened looking wait person said ‘no’ and upon checking, came back and confirmed that ‘chef said no’ . I’m pretty sure a piece of cheese would cost less that a large serve of lamb, and at that early time in the evening only 3 of their many tables were taken so being too busy was not the reason.
In addition we felt rushed to order more or leave once we’d finished eating. One of our group had her plate taken away before she’d finished ! !

Only take away available because of lockdown. Asked for pickup at 6pm but 6:15 earliest. Ordered meat platter for 2. A Tiny portion Of tzitziki and the Salad was missing. No chips so paid $10 for hard overcooked with sprinkle of feta. Needed to Order pita as well. For $120 we received seafood And meat plater. Very small portions of tasty dips and a slither of red pepper that was counted as a dish. Tasty but would have liked more between 2. The saganaki was a hard piece of dried cheese unable to be eaten. The seafood consisted of one prawn each, a tiny piece of fish less than 10cm and a portion of tender calamari. The meat plater contained in the same box was a lamb cutlet, tiny rissole, 1/2 a sausage and mixed Gyros. Lemon potatoes were cold. Both platters and potatoes were in same box container. There was one pot in of dessert, did the forget one or were we supposed to cut in half? $200 and a lot of disappointment later
Except for total failure of the saganaki flavours were ok just felt I paid a lot for a little.

Extremely expensive for average food
Platter as per picture $95 nothing stands out. The accompanying salad was mostly lettuce with a tiny piece of feta. Not a greek salad
Accompanied tzatziki portion tiny no more than a tablespoon. No pitta. Saganaki tasty but hard. For the price paid go buy yourself a whole lamb and pit it in the spot instead

Being Greek and surrounded by gun cooks (wife, mum, mother in law, sister...) the bar is always high for any Greek restaurant.
This place rocks!
What I lived was the service from the moment we sat down, the atmosphere, and the selection of mezedes.
We ordered dips, octopus, zucchini stuffed flowers and a few other bits n pieces and everything was spot on.
Then came the pork skewers, lamb and chicken gyros plates.. wow!
Meat was tender, perfectly seasoned and not bombarded with spices so you could taste the pork/chicken/lamb.
Well done! Can't wait to come back

Ate here in recently and found the whole experience to be totally underwhelming. It was myself and my wife and we were seated on a table just in front of the main counter with the result we had lots of passers by past out table (lots of customers coming and leaving as well as staff). The waiter was quite blunt and tried the hard sell on us to get either the fish or meat banquet and seemed unimpressed when we declined. I also heard the same speech to an adjoining table.
We opted for the meat platter for 2 and really it is just a load of BBQ meat with a basic salad. We ordered lemon potatos and it was just about enough for 2.
Overall disappointed and given expensive for the area I found it overall poor value

Eleni’s is slowly becoming a local icon of the food culture of Yarraville. Cuisine caters for all tastes. The meat is tender and generous as are the salads and the amazing roast potatoes. Well done to the efficient kitchen and servers for a pleasant experience.

We went for lunch to share birthdays and had a range of plates to share: Whitebait (by far the best, fish juicy), saganaki, octopus, potato, and Greek sausage Char Grilled Lukaniko (definitely the worst dish... very strong sulphur taste and very, very salty!).
It was ok apart from above comments.
We asked to be moved from a 2-seat table at the front because the table next to us had small, noisy children. We were put in a 2-seater next to the kitchen door. No problem, as it ensured the food was delivered and cleaned up quickly. Our meal cost $100 with a $13 drink each.

Definitely need an empty stomach if thinking of trying one of these Greek banquets. Similar to every Greek banquet I’ve ever done, they were generous serves of a lot of different things. Always starting with the bread and dips, which were pretty good but I think I’ve had better in Melbourne. The meats were all great and cooked well. Potatoes delicious. Actually heaps left for take home packs for some in the group. Loved the galektobureko dessert too. A happy diner indeed. The tables did feel a little squishy but a nice atmosphere. Some belly dancing for entertainment and some plate smashing with music and dancing out the back - now I don’t think this is standard but thoroughly enjoyed so look it up!

We have been dining at Eleni’s Kitchen + Bar for years now and we absolutely love it. The food is delicious and serving sizes are very generous! We usually order the Eleni’s banquet as it provides a great variety of their menu. The staff are great and service is always prompt. The tavern night is a must experience with live music, dancing and plate smashing. We always have a great time!

This restaurant was chosen by our son who lives locally … (we were visiting from the UK) … what a great choice!! Great welcome with the feeling of a true Greek restaurant.
The food and service were excellent. Check out the fish of the day … my wife had the snapper and said it was amazing. In fact, everything that we ate was excellent. Despite it having the bustle of a Greek restaurant, the staff made it feel very relaxed … food arrived quickly and was all freshly cooked.
We will definitely go back on our next visit to Melbourne.

Great Greek Food
Food was great, we had the Elena’s banquet which consisted of dips, a seafood platter and a lamb/meat platter followed by desert. We were so full we needed to go and have a siesta.
Staff were very attentive and service excellent. Will definitely return for future meals.

Beware, the serves are large, so come with friends and an appetite. Other Greek restaurants might concentrate on grilled meats, but here there are oven baked items as well. Service was good and I was brought ice water without having to ask. My Moussaka was delicious and I chose well with a Zeus beer and a bowl of Tzatziki to go with it. I would have liked to try more things, but I was completely full.
