Uncomfortable chairs, narrow menu, tiny portions, chicken breast with bones in ? only 2 obscure draught lagers. Service very slow. Very expensive. Waste of a night out

Exquisite Sunday Roast which I loved. Great venue. Ask for a table in the conservatory. Highly recommended.

I live in the same village and this pub has always been our go to. Fantastic staff, food, drinks and practical and stunning gardens. A real treat and a perfect place for family celebrations. Couldn't recommend this place more.

Upscale and reasonably priced. The duck breast and white fish were cooked to perfection. We had just spent the day at the Duxford air show on a Sunday and searching for a nice quiet pub with dinner. Not having much luck and we stumbled upon...More

The pubs was fun of punters enjoying their Sunday Lunch, the roast beef was delicious although my roast potatoes were harder than i would have cooked them. Service was great, a really enjoyable afternoon.

We went here with some friends because it is her favourite restaurant. A very good menu was complimented by a great wine selection. They have a lot of Languedoc IGP wines which is one of my favourite regions. A new winter menu was well balanced...More

Great for a lunch after visiting Duxford Air Museum. Their eateries are much too expensive and full of noise. Sat Nat sent us here.

Description
A fantastic Grade 2 listed building with a new conservatory overlooking its iconic pond. The food is Modern British/European with an emphasis on locally sourced, fresh, seasonal ingredients. The menu changes every 2 months with a specific cut of meat, fish, fowl or game being the focus of each menu. The Tickell is also a traditional country pub with wood burning stoves, great real ales and a very well considered wine list. The Tickell Arms is a former coaching inn which was transformed into a country pub/restaurant in the 1960's by the flamboyant Kim Tickell. With its striking blue exterior, eclectic decor and service it gained a level of notoriety. Kim Tickell passed away in 1991 and afterwards the building lost a lot of its lustre & appeal. It had been closed 2 years before we undertook a major refurbishment to restore it to something approaching its former glory.
