Arriving here on a cold wet November evening was a very underwhelming experience as from the outside this place completely hides what's waiting for you inside. The bar was a cosy enough place for a typical country pub but the restaurant was a real surprise....More

Lovely pub with modern restaurant area, food came quickly, was presented well and tasted delicious! Would recommend the Field Mushrooms on toast and Burger, my friends enjoyed their prawns, scallops, steaks and sausage and mash, can’t wait to go back!

This pub is like something out of a period film, but with good food and great staff. The beers were lovely and the food was impressive. It was lovely to experience a proper Cornish pub that dates back hundreds of years.

The Rising Sun is an 18th century traditional moorland inn, offering a fine selection of local and guest real ales, wines and spirits, contemporary bar and restaurant food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our food is freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen and where possible we source our ingredients with sustainability, seasonality and localism at the top of our agenda. We are situated just off the A30 about 1 mile through the village of Altarnun in the hamlet of Treween. We serve food both lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We also have a great little campsite with shower facilities and electric hook-ups. Please call for availability.
