Attended for lunch from Christmas menu. Everything was outstanding, food, service, atmosphere and excellent value for money. Their flavours are just that more complex and menu is very original and changes regularly with each season. The service is always spot on, they have it down to a fine art. This is the best restaurant in County Down, I just cannot... More

Three of us. Two had pasta and one venison liver. Menu varied and some unusual things, a few pheasant and venison dishes. The staff were friendly and not intrusive. We all enjoyed our different meals. This is a nice, cosy venue. I cannot comment on some of the hit and miss reviews. I have been here before but a long... More

Arrived for lunch-3 generations of us . Good service and menu looked appealing. Unfortunately the only one who got an edible meal was my 6 year old grandson who enjoyed his cheeseburger and ice cream sundae. We had to send back one portion of chicken as it was clearly undercooked and raw . My wife had Sole stuffed with prawns... More

Went for dinner and as usual not disappointed! Service excellent, starter and main course both to high standards enjoyed every bite and very reasonably priced.Only complaint would be house wine £20 a little steep. As every trip we loved it.

Was so looking forward to meal at Balloo House as many people rave about it. We arrived and no one seemed interested in evening greeting us or showing us to our table. Decor of restaurant was poor and food was average at best I had steak which was on the tough side my partner had fish which he said was... More

Lovely staff, extensive menu - something for everyone and fairly priced unless you have steak (£25.00) not including side. Setting and decor lends itself more towards a winter venue - turf fire in bar etc. That said really enjoyed visit last night- front of house Vanessa is excellent at her job!

It is many years since we last ate here, due to the distance from our usual haunts, and the place has undergone a transformation in terms of layout. It is much more stylish now compared to the large open space it had previously. The food across all three courses was excellent and it was extremely competitively priced. A really excellent... More

Balloo House Restaurant has a lovely ambience. Leisurely seating area for pre dinner drinks next to a cheery fire sets the scene for your evening. An attentive and knowledgable maitre d' ensured that the dietary requirements of one of our party were well met. In fact choices were given not just one alternative. The restaurant has all the little touches... More

Attended my sisters wedding on Thursday at Balloo House. The rooms upstairs are perfect for a small wedding. Chef, Danny Miller did a great job. Lots of choice, everything was hot and looked and tasted amazing. On the service front, Vanessa and the team couldn't do enough for the guests. All in all a great day. Thank you to the... More
