My wife and I had our 1st anniversary dinner here and it was wonderful. I can't say enough about how good the food and service was. It was like having a private chef or having dinner at a friends. Jim is a very talkative and interesting man who made us feel like we knew him forever. Also, the view from... More

Jim is awesome. The steaks my husband and I had were delicious and perfectly, and I mean that, prepared. I am not even one that orders steaks but I did - there was a special pear sauce - I wish I could remember the exact name of the dish but I finished ever bite. And had key lime pie for... More

We met Jim when we came to hike Sage Mountain and decided to come back for dinner. If you're looking for fancy ambiance, you won't find that here. What you will find is an incredible meal prepared and served with spectacular attention to detail. From the lobster appetizer to the steak Diane for me and the surf and turf for... More

My husband and I wanted to go exploring in the Sage Mountain National Park. We weren't really sure how to locate it so started out and found our way to Mountain View. When we stopped to ask for directions to the park which is up a footpath behind the restaurant, Jim not only gave us directions but loaned us a... More

This is one of those places you will never forget. The chef is amazing. Call ahead, or drop by ahead to plan your meal. Limited seating, so reservations are essential.

We only had time for beers, but the true British subject was amazing! Reservations a must, as he only serves 2 tables nightly. I will absolutely get the Lobster Thermadore next visit. Gift shop prices were most reasonable. Purchased 4 items on my list.

Jim (the owner & chef) was incredibly friendly. He had many stories to share with us. He takes reservations for dinner and he only serves 2 tables a night. He cooks the food to your liking. All the food was simple, fresh, and prepared without an overabundance of unhealthy ingredients. We loved the potatoes that came with our meal. I... More

This is not a typical cafe. Jim is from Gloucestershire, via the world, thirty odd years ago. He is a character, who loves Mountain View and the BVI and his passion is infectious. Do not come for haute cuisine, but for dinner with a friend. I visited three times in two days, so I was enthralled by his world. Dinner... More

Most welcoming host, only takes 2 tables for dinner so excellent personal attention. More like a dinner guest than a customer. Small, friendly, good home cooking

We found the Mountain View restaurant by accident and ended up coming back for dinner. We started the evening having one of Jim's Painkiller drinks in his bar. He makes a very good.Painkiller. One of the cruise ships actually stops here on the island tour for the Painkillers The tenderloin steak was cooked perfectly medium with a nice peach port... More
