We had a late lunch and didn't think we were that hungry, but the tapas here was fantastic! Great drinks as well. It was a rainy night, and business was slow so they closed early. Had they not, I'm sure we would have gotten dessert! Service was good too.

My friend getting married in Convento organized a group dinner at Toro a night before her wedding. The restaurant is in charming old san juan, exploring the area is definitely worthwhile, its beautiful. The service at the restaurant was very good, the restaurant has an older vintage feel that goes along with the idea of old san juan, we ended... More

We stopped by Toro Salao with our friends to have a drink and escape the heat. Our bartender and Mixologist Arlene was simply the best ever. Hand crafted drinks ( The summer Thyme Martini and the Rosemary Mijito are simply delicious. If you are ever in Old San Juan PR please stop by and ask for Arlene. We loved her... More

Great food and atmosphere. Owners took care my food allergy and were great hosts. Try the ciopinio and house salad to share.

Nice local bar/restaurant in the heart of old San Juan. We only had drinks (Red Sangria & Basil Mojito was good----bartender was decent too. Did not eat, but menu had a large tapas menu, pizzas, & entrees. Live jazz on Saturday night. Would return when back in the area.

We enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner after a day of sightseeing in San Juan. Joel, the manager and our server was super nice and helpful in helping us select authentic Spanish style foods. I had the seafood paella which was enormous and full of seafood. It was enough food for two or three people which he warned us. We split... More

Stopped into this little place after touring El Moro and Old San Juan. We had dinner reservations elsewhere but wanted a little something to tide us over. We sat in their outdoor area and ordered a few Sangrias that were well made. They offer 4 different types of Sangria which was nice to try different versions of the Spanish beverage.... More

They have a nice little outdoor seating the evening my wife and I went there. Nice wine selection. Had some good sangria there. Had a nice band playing outside, till it started raining. Then we went inside and sat at the bar and ate. My wife raved over the three cheese dip. Service was a little on the slow side,... More

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a late dinner at Toro and despite the rain we sat outside under the well covered outdoor seating area. I had the flat iron steak with delicious roasted potatoes. He had clay pot chicken and we both split the empanadillas appetizer. I highly recommend for a couples night out!

The name describes the food perfectly " high blood pressure sufferers stay away" and if you don't have "HBP" you surely will after eating here! This place boasts about having great sangria "NOT SO". The location is pretty good and the live music band a plus. The wait staff was a bit shaky but it is not their fault as... More
