this is a lovely restaurant and when in puerto rico, it should be on your list. i love spanish food and this is a great example of why! we had the octopus carpaccio, croquetas and red snapper with tiny brussel sprouts --- and the food was wonderful! they also have a wine room with thousands of bottles -- pretty amazing.

Food and drinks are really expensive and their cuisine is not that fancy. Service is good, but for some reason they don't hire women. Some items of the menu are just plain local food without any creative variation.

I walked over from the quaint Hotel Iberia and enjoyed flawless service and sumptuous food! My host said this was one of the 3 best restaurants in San Juan and that he has been coming here for 30 years. I can see why!

Good Spanish food restaurant, located at ten minutes by car from the Convention Center. Delicious food. I ordered the Halibut fish, Octopus Carpaccio, Ham Croquettes and were all very good. You can enjoy a nice glass of wine as they have a variety of wines to choose from. I also tried the Orange Flan, delicious! Medium range prices. I went... More

Cuisine is seafood oriented and western. Quality of dishes were amazing. Wine collection is off the charts. Very modern decor, clean and new. We had the filet mignon, which they customized perfectly. Had the halibut - fantastic. Had the scallops. Each dish was cooked to perfection and they tweaked it to your personal preference. This is top 3 favorite in... More

Been dining here for 16 years now! Jose & Maximino Rey are the true dynamic duo! Place is definitely pricey but once you put that first bite, (of anything!) you'll know it is money well spent! Love the wine selection: it is a nice balance of old world with new world and the prices are fair. They do not accept... More

Excellent cuisine by chef Jose Rey and service coordinator maitre Maximino Rey (no relation). Compostela distributes wines so needless to say, they have the good stuff... Fyi, i just finished having green salad with sashimi quality tuna dices for starters, a Hendrix martini to warm me up on a rainy PR Friday, and half bottle of Sonoma Russian River Valley... More

Best restaurant in San Juan, definitely. Great wine. Personalized one to one service. Great food, what else? Every visitor should not leave PR, before visiting Compostela.
