Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Half way down the raft trip, on the edge of the river in the middle of nowhere is Belinda, cooking great food over wood and stones. A truly magical experience

Miss Belinda’s cook shop was truly an amazing experience. First day open after covid today and the food was spot on. The fish was perfect. Didn’t need a thing. The curry goat was yummy. She even sent to buy drinks for us when we needed....Well priced and truly a Jamaican treasure I heartily Reccomend Miss Belinda who was the epitome of grace under pressure today when 2 large groups of rafters descended at the same time.More

Four of us, two couples ventured on a Rio Grande Rafting trip. We'd heard all about Belindas and wanted to try it. We arrived by raft during our trip and stopped in for a bite to eat but were told since we didn't order in...advance all they had for us was one chicken and one goat plate which the 4 of us shared. This place is rustic, I mean, she's cooking in the jungle here on an open fire. There were homemade bamboo picnic tables we used. The food was fabulous. All 4 of us were full off the 2 meals for $25US. The goat plate was my favorite and I'd never tried breadfruit before and enjoyed that as well. I definitely recommend stopping by, just remember to order a day in advance if you can.More

I have been down the river about twice. I am from Jamaica and this time I brought my husband's cousin. She could not stop talking about the curry goat she had. She told everyone who would listen. My husband and I ha chicken. If you...are going down the river you MUST STOP AND EAT HERE, I promise you will not regret it. The price is great and there is a guy that sells drinks too. Oh man, the food is so good.More

We booked to raft on the Rio Grande which was an amazing experience! In the middle of this we stopped here for food. What a surprise! You felt like you were in the wilderness and knew that this was something special. We had curried goat...and chicken fricasse and honestly it was the best we've ever tasted! DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE and make sure you tip her well! She walks one and a half hours down the mountain to prepare this delicious food and deserves to be rewarded for giving people the experience of a lifetime. Savour it!More

Small wood-fire restaurant -lace along the rio grande river. Expect absolutely nothing fancy, no choice whatsoever but a really authentic small and surprisingly good quality of food place with wooden benches and a beautiful view

Thankfully we took the advice of our friends and made the stop at Belinda's ... there were countless highlights during our week in Port Antonio, and this was right at the top of the list. Her authentic Jamaican dishes were spectacular! The fish (snapper), was...amazing. The chicken was fabulous. The pork unreal. How she pulls it all off is a mystery, but you can bet that the next time we are in Porty, we will be seeing Belinda once again!More

Lunch at Belinda's was the highlight of our rafting trip. Her food was delicious! And what an amazing setting to eat it in. We were the only raft there when we stopped and it was just so lovely. Food was reasonably priced and there was...plenty of it. If you go on the rafting trip, make sure you book Belinda's as part of it.More
