The owner was there, the food was outstanding and the people were wonderful. The service was fantastic. Keep it up - if we ever get back to the DR we will definitely eat here again!

This past weekend we were in Puerto Plata and stopped in at Los Charros for dinner with friends, all with high expectations for Mexican food. The service was incredible, our hostess was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and the service could not have been better. The food was outstanding and all four in our party raved about every item. The taste, freshness... More

Very quiet place near Cofresi Palm Beach hotel. Food was good but a bit pricy. Langustini and steak filet mignot were really tasty. This restaurant is good option when you get tired of all inclusive buffet.

We enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Complimentary chips and salsa arrived quickly followed by margaritas and Cuba libres. One member of our party ordered a mango margarita but it arrived with a salted edge, sugar would have complimented the mango flavor better. A variety of selections were ordered from burritos to tacos to fajitas. All were hot, fresh,... More

Although we had a cook and maid at our location, we opted to try Los Charros on the main street of Cofresi one evening. Service is excellent and the food delicious, margaritas were good and the beer cold. As the rain pelted down we decided to move the table away from the window. Word of advice....don't!! The glass table is... More

Tastes food served by friendly staff. They have free wifi and good drinks too. The platanos are yummy. I like food spicy, so I added their hot sauce. Clean bathrooms and a pretty view.

Description
Specializing in fresh homemade, Mexican cuisine, Los Charros’ kitchen is overseen by Juanita Vazquez. Juanita grew up in Acapulco and lived in Mexico City and Cancun. A consummate student of the Mexican tradition, Juanita toured Mexico for 16 years and developed exceptional proficiency with the culture, folklore dances and cooking styles from the Aztec west coast to Mayan east coast of Mexico. She prides herself on the fresh preparation of pre-Columbian and classic Mexican dishes that native Mexicans enjoy; neither too heavy nor over-spiced. For “Americanized” fare, Juanita collaborates with her "Gringo", Timo, a restaurateur with experience at trendy restaurants in Florida, Tennessee and Texas. Together with our island cooks, the Los Charros team guarantees the finest in authentic Mexican cuisine, popular Tex-Mex specialties and local island fare.
