After overspending at a number of tourist places, Sambal was a pleasant surprise. Very good appetizer platter and good main courses. Right next door to a gelato shop. I'd go back.

Not at all disappointed by the food they serve, it's strict Indonesian but more a mix of indonesian, Thai and Surinamese. Perfect ! Overall again a nice experience, and recommendable to people who like to try and are interested in different cultures and food! Ruby,...More

We were a little early for the Saturday night bbq, but we're still able to sample the chicken, beef and pork Sate. Also tried the Indonesian food and it was good, but ask for the hot pepper sauce and it's then great. Owner was more...More

Local place in a square with tables set up and three restaurants right around it and a few others nearby. In the "suburbs" so definitely not on the usual tourist locations. The food seems to be authentic Indonesian and is fine.

Great food and ambiance! Service with a smile, You will leave a happier person for sure, just watch out with the amount of Sambal you put in your food. You will feel it the next day!

If you love Indonesian food (like I do) and you've been deprived (like I have living in NYC), Sambal is worth a detour!

shockingly bad food. Behind the counter was a microwave and all the food came out of the fridge and got a 3 minute microwave treatment before being served. For 4 adults we paid $130!!! We have had Indonesian food in many places and this was simply horrible.
