We passed this place several times and finally decided to eat there, we started with a Shrimp cocktail that was anything but, it was just a bunch of tiny shrimp and thousand island dressing on the side. The food was okay, but we were really unimpressed, especially because in Cuba, many places go out of their way to present their... More

All my friends in Matanzas have always told me that I had to try a dinner at Mallorca, but I never seemed to find the time until now. My wife and I and four friends from the city went for a meal. Make a reservation. This restaurant is Cuban high end dining serving an almost any entirely local customer base.... More

Took an hour plus for seafood special and chicken breast to arrive. Way too overpriced for the quality of the food (by comparison the food at the grill from Calle 62 right besides us was much more delicious and cheaper - we tried it because Mallorca's food left us feeling hungry) Water costs 2.50 CUCs per bottle (we weren't informed... We visited here in November 2010. We ate here because the owner/maitre'd was stationed out front trolling for customers and 'roped us in', so to speak. We ate on the patio. The appetizers and meal were mediocre, the mojitos however were very good. The desserts were quite nice as well and it was interesting to watch the traffic on the... More

We had a chickpea and chorizo starter and the paella which were both delicious. The waiter was attentive and made good mojitos. The toilets in this restaurant were some of the best we found in Cuba. Overall we could not fault the service or value for money.

If visiting matanzas this is defiantly worth trying. It's very popular with locals consequently the prices for tourists is very reasonable. It's recently undergone a referb and is now very modern , not what you would expect for a Cuban restUrNt at all. There is a small bar but plenty of space for large groups if required. Toilets are very... More

My husband and I were just there for the third time! We went in for lunch and had the seafood special. It was lobster, shrimp, rice and a little salad. The seafood was perfectly cooked and came in a delicious garlic butter. We will definitely return next time, and everytime we go back to Varadero!
