Although the food was reasonably good (roast chicken and chips) the menu choices were VERY limited and the environment (a large very rickety garden area) is full of bugs and mosquitoes. No locals eat here - instead it's a place used by tour guides to take their guests so everyone eating is a tourist!! My recommendation: Find somewhere more 'authentic'... More

We ate here because it is near El Morro Fort and heard the roast pork was good. Unfortunately, because this restaurant is near a tourist destination and caters to mostly tourist, I felt it did not try very hard to accommodate customers. We went for lunch. When we were ready to order, we discovered they were out of roast pork... More

Restaurant frequented by tour buses between visits to El Morro and El Criston. Did not have many of the items on the menu. Food was good, but probably overpriced. We paid 26 CUC for one lunch and a couple of beers. Nice setting and live music.

Good food, live music and great service! The location is fantastic and easy to get to. We had the fish and octopus, I would recommend those.

Paladar Dona Carmela offers extremely good service and is located near a tourist area. While the food is good, I found the prices extremely high compare to other palarades in the city.

On our way from visiting the El Cristo de la Habana and one of the fortresses, we were recommended to go to this restaurant by one of the taxi cab drivers that were parked in the area. We were in the area to go to the fortress to see the show at 9pm and we were starving! It has a... More

Our guidebook suggested there were bars and restaurants within La Cabaña fortress but as we were about to enter we checked with the security guy at the entrance who said they were closed (which they were) and recommended Paladar Doña Carmela. Fantastic meal in a lovely setting with live music.

During a day trip to Havana, our tour guide brought us to Paladar Doña Carmela for an authentic Cuban lunch. My mom and I loved it! The food at our resort had been pretty underwhelming, so we weren't sure what to expect, but this was my favourite meal of our whole stay in Cuba. The portions are huge, so you... More

We came upon this place by mistake one day while visiting the La Cabaña fortress located on eastern side of the harbor entrance in Havana, in other words, across the bay. We were looking for La Divina Pastora restaurant when we asked for directions and were pointed towards this restaurant instead. We arrived at the front door tired & hungry... More

Outside of Havana city center, authentic and family owned. Great music and great service. Excellent food. We ate family style having fish, lobster, beef, pork chop, rabbit and of course beans and rice. Great atmosphere. We walked in (after a classic car ride :)) but get a reservation and ask for an outside table.
