We were part of a group of 20 attending a birthday celebration. The restaurant had a very casual, relaxed atmosphere great for vacation dining. We were seated in an outdoor patio section which was right on the beach. This was great because the kids entertained themselves...More

If you in Barbados you MUST try the Lobster. The best lobster I ever had in my life. I've been to Asia and other Caribbean Island. There is not comparable to this. The texture of the meat is fabulous.

We had lunch here having walked ten minutes along the beach outside of Bridgetown. The restaurant is right on the beach next to Boatyard. The restaurant has an indoor pool with may live lobsters and then a large pot on the boil. As a family...More

Would probably not go for dinner. The lobsters were very fresh and great tasting especially with the dipping butter. Not much else on the menu that was available. Children's chicken nuggets came out of a freezer box. Pretty grim physical structure but okay if you...More

After lunch we were putting our stuff together before walking to our taxi. We set down our bag on a beach chair while we folded our towels. This took less than one minute. A very agitated man ran up to us and yelled "did you...More

Excellent as usual, and the UK family finally got the lobster they were craving. The staff were great with the little ones.

We called in to meet a friend, have a drink and watch the jazz band, once we saw the food we just had to order. We've eaten lobster at various locations in the world, but none that match up to what you'll be served here....More

Good lobster but the location and the price really do not justify the high price paid. Poor structure despite the cost. Poor menu.

Apologies for the late response. The managers have been busy with jackhammers and sawdust for 4 months and have neglected their online duties. Things are finishing up now and we hope to announce our opening date shortly... More

Description
The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.
