Lobster alive is a lovely seafood restaurant where you actually get to pick your own lobster in the pool and then it's cooked in front of you. The food is pleasant and there is a small kids menu ish. Everybody in our party seemed to...More

If you want lobster from the tank then visit October to April, but we had lobster bisque and lobster thermidor and both were excellent. We ate there for lunch straight from the beach with 2 young children (7 and 2) and atmosphere was very casual...More

It takes a lot for me to write a poor review, but I've given this considerable thought before doing so. My husband and two children (age 14 and 11) visited Lobster Alive just over a week ago to enjoy the jazz and some fantastic lobster....More

To be sure why not email them directly. They are very prompt in replying and very helpful. If you have a Sunday in Barbados then I would recommend the Sunday jazz lunch. It is a great atmosphere.

Apologies for the late response. The managers have been busy with jackhammers and sawdust for 4 months and have neglected their online duties. Things are finishing up now and we hope to announce our opening date shortly... More

Description
The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.
