We went with friends, skipped the starter and dessert straight in for the main event, the lobster and very good it was too. If you want to chose one from the tank you can, if you'd rather just order from the menu that's fine. A choice of accompaniments, bread and some of the freshest best cooked lobster anywhere. Like lobster... More

Was SO looking forward to dining here. Can't fault the staff, but they were busy which made them inattentive. We ordered lobster bisque and then 2 medium lobsters. We asked for bread with our starter but none arrived. Bisque was ok, but considering what they have on tap I'm surprised it wasn't sublime. Followed by half a medium lobster. No... More

My wife and I have been here a few times over the years but never posted a comment. I feel that I should, now that again a wonderful few hours spent listening to the Jazz and having great food and atmosphere fantastic. Yes it is expensive if you choose the Lobster but if you want to treat yourselves and take... More

We've been to this restaurant, probably thirty plus times over the years! Always good food and service and at this time of year there is always plenty of fresh lobster in the tank! Art has changed his management team since we last visited and it's also been refurbished so the whole feel about the place is even better! First class... More

We had heard about Lobster Alive from a friend. We took a taxi to get there as trip advisor indicated it was difficult to find. However when there we were not disappointed. A fresh batch of lobsters arrived as we waited for ours. The service was relaxed and friendly but the lobsters wee so fresh they were the best we... More

We have been to Barbados before and visited Lobster Alive so it was definitely on our list to re-visit. We made early reservations requesting a table on the beach. The restaurant opened at 6:00 pm, our reservations were for 6:30 pm. We took the bus into Bridgetown with the intention of walking Brown’s beach and hopefully catching the sunset before... More

Lovely views, beach clear, sea crystal clear. Needed to remind them to put rum in the cocktails as served weak. Food really is amazing though, especially the lobster.

This restaurant is on the beach close to Bridgetown. The food was delicious. I had the lobster spring roll (rather too much roll and too little lobster) and an excellent lobster Thermidor. One member of our party of four is allergic to all seafood and said she had a steak which she couldn't fault. Great jazz band playing as well.... More

Lobster Alive is a small restaurant on the outskirts of Bridgetown. Seating is extremely limited. You need to make reservations or come before the rush as we did. They play jazz music while you are dining. They offer all different kinds of dishes with Lobster, including Lobster Spaghetti. I started off with a Conch and Calaloo Chowder. The Chowder had... Fantastic food right on the beach with and old jazz band playing in the background. Loved it. I am a thermidor lover and have had thermidor in many parts of the world. This one is definitively up there amongst the best.

Description
The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.
