The atmosphere is as described above and the wait staff is friendly. The name is "Lobster Alive" not "Catfish Alive" so the pricing was no surprise. We went here for dinner on our last night on the island. She ordered the namesake while I got...More

The ambiance was lovely and the jazz band was really nice. However the lobster was over cooked and dry and the rest of the food was ok. I think the prices are too high for what we got.

We fully enjoyed the experience at Lobster Alive. We went for lunch, the sun was shining, we had a beer, relaxed and embraced our surroundings while our Lobster was prepared. It was just a fun, no nonsense fantastic day....

Great place. Having just been the once, I would probably recommend it as a daytime venue rather than evening as the beach in front of the restaurant is beautiful. Having said that, the dining experience was very pleasant. It was New Year's Eve so everybody...More

So we arrived and ordered 1 starter between us, 2 half lobsters and 1 beer and 1 water. All started smoothly. However after the main courses had been served, we didn't get approached by a server for over an hour, no drinks offered, no desserts...More

Came here with my girlfriend and we had a great meal! The lobster spring rolls were a fantastic starter and we then shared a large spiny lobster which was incredible. The setting is great and would recommend getting there for sunset.

If you want really fresh lobster in Bridgetown this is the place to go. We took lobster termidor and it was excellent, but order a small one. We took medium size and that was too big for us and it wasn’t cheap. The price is...More

I heard about this place from a fellow tourist while on vacation and decided to try it out. The restaurant is just off of the beach in a quiet looking building, but don't let that fool you as once you enter you would be pleasantly...More

On the beach (or more indoors, but open air), covered for rain. There was a jazz band performing live. You can get Caribbean spiny lobster (no claws!), priced to size, with a la carte additions, or get a complete lobster package per person, also priced...More

We had a birthday dinner at this place. Reserved a table outside on the deck. The cool evening breeze and the slow live jazz music contributed for the ambience. The interior is very “carrebian” basic but nice. We had crab soup for starter which was...More

There's really no lunch menu. They may have a special of the day, but the menu is standard for the day.

To be sure why not email them directly. They are very prompt in replying and very helpful. If you have a Sunday in Barbados then I would recommend the Sunday jazz lunch. It is a great atmosphere.

Description
The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.
