Have been visiting Barbados since 1998 on cruise ships. We discovered the Lobsters Alive spot years ago & have used them on every occasion since, even bringing friends along with us. Last year we were a party of eight. We enjoy the beach & the Rum Punches are great, the food has always been satisfactory. This year 2017 we went again to... More

Surprisingly, I don't eat lobster a whole lot. But I came here because my boyfriend loves it. Both of our meals was great and it made like lobster even more. We went late in the evening and had a good time listening to the live band and sitting on the beach.

Paid $10 for sun bed/brolly which entitles you to wifi and 2 half price drinks tickets (only includes beer, water or draft coke etc so not really a big saving) This is a beach bar.. but you're not allowed to use the tables and chairs at the actual bar until lunchtime.. so no good if you want to sit in... We chose to not eat there because the prices were shocking since we ate a big breakfast before leaving the ship. Very few people from the ship here (good news) a little more costly package, but we prefer the added small expense to avoid the constant haranguing from salesmen (had only one twice) and a great view. We actually slept... More

Went there for lunch looking for a good lobster bisque that we were told they had. Very disappointed with the watery broth and maybe a teaspoon of lobster flakes in the soup. the spring rolls we had were a disappointment as well. With no beverage other than water the 53$ US bill was outlandish. We will not be back. Did... More

good food but vastley overpriced. The place is set on the beach, the staff are very welcoming, the food was very good we had lobster bisque followed by half lobster. Compared to other Carribean islands I felt it was overpriced. For bisque, half lobster aand a glass of wine each we paid 396 bd$ = £160 later in the holidaay... More

I have been to Barbados last week. One of the thing you look for in the Caribbean is to get a wifi access to avoid data roaming charges. The beach i have been at is managed by the Lobster alive restaurant. Once you reach there; the restaurant employees will rush into you to get you to pay for the chair... More

Fourteen of us went to Lobster live for Sunday lunch and it was a must do for Barbados. Not far from the centre of Bridgetown, this basic beach restaurant has great atmosphere and offered what we wanted. Sat on the sand in plastic chairs, there were few airs and graces but the background live jazz band, flowing wine, sun, sea... More

The owner flies his spiny lobsters in fresh from the Grenadines in his own plane. We enjoyed listening to the steel drums and devouring a 5 1/2 pound crustacean. Good food, good drinks, good service, great location right on Brownes Beach at Carlisle Bay.You can sit outside or inside.

We walked by this place around noon while we were visiting the Bridgetown area, so we made reservations in person for that evening. Our reservations were for on the beach seating at 6 PM/18:00 when the restaurant opens. When we arrived at 5:50 PM we were informed that they would not open until 6 PM, and offered a seat at... Description
The restaurant initially began as a wholesale distributor for the island's hotels and restaurants. Cooked takeaway service was added; along with a friendly free beer while you wait. Shortly after that the health inspector demanded we go the whole way or "wholesale only". This was around 1998. Long time friend and fellow musician with the local VSOP Jazz band "Stu Jenkins" became the resident artist (designer) and we named the up coming restaurant "LOBSTER ALIVE and all that Jazz". We felt our way; with many of the usual restaurant mistakes. But it seems now, we have scored quite well with international critics, restaurant guide books; and our many repeat customers.
