Off the main road turn at Pirates Pizza. Looks like someones house. Friendly owner sits down and takes your order. Food Was very good. Wine is all they serve. You really get a taste of local food and owner makes you feel very welcome

We stopped here during our tour of the island.
Plenty of choices and I picked a local dish of the Chicken Roti. Best meal I had on the island. Passion fruit juice, Roti and her homemade mustard salad dressing put a smile on my face.
I asked about the dressing and she blessed me with the recipe.
We absolutely will be back.
A lovely afternoon lunch, with the sweetest woman ever. Do not miss this hidden gem while visiting Antigua. Located right by the English harbor.

This was one of our favorite restaurants in the island. Casual, very authentic, and very much off the beaten path. We visited the English Harbour area on 12/29. We asked our boat captain for a recommendation for local Antiguan food, as many of the restaurants cater to the tourists in the area. The older woman who served us was very nice and proud of the local cuisine. Her food had wonderful flavor, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. My husband had the curry goat, I had curry conch, and my son had the beef roti. I got mine with fungee as a side. We finished every last bite. The homemade juices were also delicious. The whole lunch cost us about $40 USD!

We stopped here as part of a guided tour of the island, and it was delightful! My wife had the Fungee with stewed chicken and I had the Ducana with curried conch. We were served by the owner of the restaurant, who was very friendly. The food and the service were both excellent.

Nick and Gretel owners of Caribbean Taste restaurant have more than exceeded what I was looking for in a local eatery . The presentation and taste of their meals was exceptional . The lobster bisque blew my mind , the best I had so far and the callaloo soup was unique as an appetizer. The entrees were jerk conch and curried goat , both were tasty, tender and well seasoned to perfection . Both were aromatic to the taste buds. One of our favorite restaurants to visit whenever we visit Antigua again.

If possible we always prefer to find local traditional places to eat & as Caribbean Taste was listed in Lonely Planet guide we decided to go for dinner. The lady owner (I presume) was very welcoming on arrival we were the only customers. She gave us mozzy spray to ward off the wee beasties but we preferred not to use it.
The menu was fairly limited & only wine available apart from soft drinks. We ordered a crab cake starter to share & it was literally that , 1 crab cake which was OK. We were then served a small bowl of salad before goat curry & jerk conch. The jerk conch was very tasty as was the accompanying rice & peas & vegetables. My husband was disappointed with the goat curry which had a lot of bones & although savoury was not particularly curry flavoured.
We ordered pineapple bread pudding & banana cake for desert which were very nice.
Unfortunately this restaurant didn't really live up to our expectations & we have had better value authentic Caribbean food in other restaurants in the English Harbour area.

We were very pleased to find Caribbean Taste courtesy of Trip Advisor, whilst there is a sign at the bottom of the road it is hidden behind a couple of houses. It is a “proper” Caribbean restaurant, not much spent on the décor, just a chalk board menu and a nice greeting from the waitress. The callaloo soup was excellent and the goat curry tasty.
For some reason they didn’t have any beer but they do sell wine which by Antigua prices was very reasonable.

My husband and I went for dinner and loved our visit! We arrived and were the only customers and the owner and her daughter were inside chatting (which we thought was lovely) and instantly laid a table for us and offered us drinks. There is a simple but perfect menu which is listed on a chalkboard and includes local dishes. We chose goat curry and shrimp from the menu. I asked for the shrimp to be peeled which they did - no problem. Both meals were absolutely delicious and were both served with rice, potatoes, salad and vegetables. My husband and I love spicy food, so they offered us some homemade spicy sauce which was VERY spicy but gorgeous (we were able to purchase a bottle). This is a lovely family run restaurant and were so kind and friendly - we will definitely be going back with the rest of our family before we leave the island! We would definitely recommend!

Set back from the main road please visit this lovely restaurant if you want to sample authentic Antiguan food. We visited twice during our 1 week stay in English Harbour. Service is laid back and it's a nice quiet place. The food is delicious and cooked for you with soul and love. They have a basic red or white wine.
We tried the curry goat, bbq ribs, grilled fish, crab cake, callaloo, lobster bisque and garlic bread: all were delicious.
If we had more time we would have visited again. So we need to return to Antigua.

Stopped here whilst on an Island tour, such a lovely welcome.
The menu is on a chalk board, there is a mixture of local dishes and a variety of burgers with fries.
We had the curried goat and chicken stew both served with rice&peas, vegetables & salad.
They have lots of drinks to chose from aswell, the mango juice was excellent.
Definitely worth a trip.

Had high expectations, not many places are serving Caribbean food in the evening in the area, especially out of season. Lovely couple running the place but that's about the only positive thing. Food was not great, you can get much better meals on the side of the road or from any of the small shacks serving food but they are not open in the evenings. Very very expensive for what it is and it certainly not worth more than a quarter of what they charge. I do not like giving negative reviews to truly local businesses but give this place a miss!

Excellent local food tucked away off the main road. We loved this place so much we went back multiple times during our stay to try different things on the menu. The service is quick and friendly and the food is delicious. They'll even make something for you if it's not on the menu. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some great local food in a sit-down setting.
First time we went we ordered the lobster bisque, jerk conch, and ribs - all were delicious. The second time we ordered the conch curry and callaloo. The callaloo was so good and silky, it was my first time trying it and couldn't get enough.
There are lots of good food options in the area but if you are looking for local food this is the place to go.

We were on an island tour and the guide took us here for lunch…… WOW amazing food! I had conch curry and my husband had curried goat. The lady serving was very attentive and answered any questions we had. Her husband was the chef and he did a fantastic job. The food was so authentic and locally sourced. Barry, our tour guide joined us, I think if local people eat in a place then that’s a good thing. We loved it. Thank you !!

This place is slightly off the main road and can be tricky to find (look for the green arrow!) but TRUST ME it is worth stepping off the beaten path. My boyfriend and I love carribean food, and the flavours here are incredible. We had the callaloo soup, a local specialty that I loved, and crab cakes to start. Both were awesome! For our mains we had the jerk conch- HOLY MOLE!!! So delicious. Tender and great seasonings. We also had the goat curry, one of our favourite island dishes. Amazing! The rice and peas was very well seasoned, great portions. We topped off the experience with fresh sliced mango. YUM!! The owner took our order and was so kind and helpful, we had an awesome experience. 10 out of 10!!

Tonight I wanted to go this restaurant to try authentic Caribbean cuisine. We got here very early and there was still no other patron. The dishes are written on a blackboard and looking at the prices I was immediately frightened, but then I thought maybe the portions would be plentiful. None of this is happening. The food is good, but the portions are scarce and everything is centellinate: I asked for mayonnaise. The lady who served us came with the tube and squeezed a very thin veil over the potatoes. Strangely, beer is not available, but only water or wine. Too bad: the food was good, but the bad value makes it a place to avoid. For the same price there is better in town.
