We went to Russell’s Bar and Seafood Restaurant on the last night of our visit to Antigua, and it was a fitting capstone to a delightful trip. The setting is the very atmospheric ruins of Fort James, an early 18th century English military outpost on...north St. John’s Harbour. Danielle, the gracious and charming owner and excellent cook, provided us a most memorable experience topped off with a stunning sunset. The tasty fresh fish, conch fritters and vegetables were expertly prepared and thoroughly delectable. Not the least of the many attractions is the best rum punch we’ve ever had, and we have partaken of many across the islands. Our thanks and highest accolades to Danielle!More

My husband, brother and sister in law found this as we were leaving Ft James. This is not to be missed. Can be found past Beach Limerz or through Fort. We loved the drinks and awesome views. Go you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing views of the sun setting and cruise ships sailing away. Pelicans diving for fish and dolphins too. But best of all is their traditional rum punch - not just rum with fruit juice but freshly squeezed lemons made to order - to die for!...Plus they do excellent potatoes wedges! If you haven’t been here you’re missing out!More

Went to visit Fort James which is in an advanced state of decay, except for the canon which look ready to fire, if a bit rusty. Through the ruins, we spied a path leading to a rain washed building where a charming Dominican barkeep made...us the best "old fashioned" rum punches I have ever tasted! We enjoyed them on the terrace overlooking the harbour on a beautiful day. Well worth a visit and you could try the "goat water" if you dare!More

I haven't eaten here in years but we love to come here to enjoy the view and the terrace and partake of the excellent rum punch. The view of the fort and the water is lovely, the staff is nice and the terrace always has...room for us. It's just a good place to hang out for a while and then head to the beach.More

Wow. What a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Or to watch the various cruise ships make their way out to sea at night. My wife can attest to the wonderful flavour of the rum punch and I can say that the beers are served...perfectly chilled. The staff is welcoming and friendly and make you feel very comfortable. Just a couple of minor setbacks: the bathrooms were poorly lit (or unlit) and badly maintained and there is very little signage around the area to clearly indicate where Russell's actually is. The charming owner is working on resolving that second issue. Meanwhile I know where I will be next sunset in Antigua.More

I have been here three times now and the experience was the same. The staff and management were friendly but the food was COLD. The taste was okay but I definitely do not like my food cold. They do a great job on the drinks...though. If I do return to this restaurant it would be for lunch or dinner for two persons. The lighting at night is low and the view from the outside during the day is amazing!More
