Meads Bay Rd 200 | Part of the Anacaona Boutique Hotel, The Valley AI 2640, Anguilla
Caribbean > Anguilla > The Valley
The poolside restaurant is called Firefly and in the evening you’ll see why: candlelit tables look out on the nodding palm trees and myriad lights sparkle on the main pool as tropical tree frogs serenade the guests. Firefly is quite magical, open to the trade winds and cooled by eight slowly revolving ceiling fans. The menu features a fusion of traditional Caribbean cuisine with a Eurasian slant. In our quest to create a truly island experience the menus in both the bar and restaurant will feature many Anguillian dishes, with Dog Island Curried Goat and Mama Paul’s Tuna Tartar sharing top billing with Chicken Francaise and Black Angus Steak-- all served with old-style piping hot Johnny Cakes. Many of the ingredients come from our own organic garden and orchard just beyond the main pool. We also have three “theme nights” each week: Latin Night (Friday), Chinese Night (Tuesday) and Antillean Night (Thursday), the latter with a floor show of song and dance performed by the local “Mayoumba Folkloric Theatre Troupe”. Firefly is open for breakfast 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m, lunch 12 noon to 3.00 pm and dinner 7 pm – 9.30 pm The menu of bar snacks is available throughout the day. Dinner entrees range in price from $18 to $39 but we won’t be offended if you settle for the bar snacks (mostly $10 a serving), including, amongst other offerings, seven types of wings, conch fritters and calamari. There is also a “to go” menu for food-and-drinks service on the beach during the day. Since people come to Anguilla to relax, the dress code in Firefly is casually chic. The Firefly bar is open from 11.00 a.m. until 11 p.m. but may well stay open longer since our bartender has created an inviting collection of specialty tropical drinks ‘For Those Who Are…’ (that is, “For Those Who are Romantic” or “Past It” or whatever -- guests will have to read the complete menu to match their moods). They keep the conversation bubbling long after bedtime. By day, guests can order food & drinks from their loungers on the beach from our beach bar “D’Sand Pit”.Live Entertainment at Anacaona’s Firefly Restaurant: ThursdaysFeaturing one of Anguilla's oldest cultural group "Mayoumba Folkloric Theatre" told through song and dance featuring centuries of Anguillian History.
