On a Monday night there weren't many choices in Mangawhai but we certainly lucked in coming here. A popular spot judging by the dining room.
We had chips and buffalo wings with our drinks. Was very tasty. Sat outside in the late afternoon breeze. Friendly pleasant staff. It was quiet and relaxing while we were there which was nice. Prices were good for what we had.

Old style pub but service good, and good food. Atmosphere was friendly, nice view across the water with nice cool breeze on hot day.
Went with a group of friends for a few drinks that became dinner. So glad we decided to stay and have a bite to eat. Great food and service. and the view over the water is a big plus.
Thanks for the great review Fiona. Appreciate you taking the time
Had a lovely lunch at mangawhai tavern last week. We sat out side and looked over the estuary. Food was good for pub food and very acceptable. Service was attentive, polite and friendly
Thanks Denise. Hope to see you back again soon
I think this is the only place in Mangawhai you can get a pint and look at the water! Very decent pub food (mini burgers/sliders are great) and friendly service. Great venue for the summer concerts. Ill be back again!
Hi Joby. Thanks for your great review. You are correct - it's the only spot on the water!
