The setting is OK but there is no real view and as at ,sadly all to many, places there is pop music. It lacks atmosphere and the menu is the area standard one and, whilst slow, the service is friendly. This is not somewhere I would rush back to but I find it difficult to judge it too harshly for where... This restaurant has the most beautiful setting and its on the sea edge.. We ordered creamy mussels but it had no taste at all and the bread was ordinary sliced commercial bread, wow!!!??? The creamy sauce was from a packet??? After that starter we decided to rather drive north for supper... This was a dissapointment

Riptide on Saturday.....no -no.Preperation , food so-so.Service....no passion....i asked for olives,i thought I was eating skin on bone with NO flavour,when I complained to the waitress,she answered "I don't eat olives".In general,no smiles,eat and move,that was the attitude.Disappointed

Lovely location and efficient service. The crayfish is the main reason to visit in my opinion. Right on the Southbroom beach, it has a very relaxed vibe

This was the worst meal I've had in South Africa in 12 years of living here. I've seen a bigger child sized portion. Fish was a disgrace.

I've been to rupture several times over the years, always busy, but experienced staff kept things running. Good food overlooking southbound beach, used to be very reliable. Not sure if there are now new owners, but all the staff appear to have changed, and they seemed pretty clueless. Restaurant was half full which was a big surprise straight off, and... More

New Years Evening - a time for celebration. Not at Riptide. I am a homeowner in Southbroom and myself, my wife and daughter (3 years old) and two friends with their 8 year old son, visited Riptide for New Year Eve. This went against my better judgement as in the past, the food and service, has been of the lowest... More

Service is not great but it's December and holiday time, we rush everyday of the week, so it so nice to sit and look at the sea and watch the time tick by. The food is good it's not a 5 star restaurant but it's tasty and pleasant. I had hake and prawn combo it's was great and the sauces... More
