We popped into the Lord Nelson on the off chance to see if they did food and if so what? We were pleasantly surprised to find that they had a very good food menu with a variety of dishes. We had a Jacket potato with cheese and beans and a BLT sandwich. Total £9.75 The jacket came with some salad... More

Love this pub! Don't expect the latest in pub decor but that's what makes this a great pub! It has a shabby charm, go visit you'll know what I mean! It's not changed for a long time and I hope it stays as it is for a long time to come; that's part of its charm. In the summer, go... More

We were really well looked after on Christmas Day - as a family group of 14, we decided not to cook but to take our party to the Lord Nelson. Leighton & his team were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Food served efficiently without being hurried & the quality exceeded all our expectations. Party included 1 child, 1 80... More

The young bar manager told us to leave and also referred to me as overweight. Was extremely insulted and won't be returning. She spent more time talking to her young colleagues and laughing then trying to serve. She let down the bar and problem easily solved - new manager

Old world pub. Popular with the locals. Low ceilings and wooden floors in the front part. A bit tacky in the back. Clean toilets.

Popped into the Lord Nelson Hythe, for a coffee and a pint for the other half, looked at the menu and was immediately tempted, wasn,t disappointed, good value and excellent quality. Will visit again whenever we are in the area.

We came over to Hythe for a rare day out with the whole family, including my mum who is 84, wheelchair bound and diabetic. We arrived outside the pub at 13.45 and there was a board outside the pub advertising food (no times stated). We all wanted to have lunch and we were told at the bar that the kitchen... More

Ate lunch here with my friends today having been a few years ago. Still good pub grub, good choice on the menu and consistent quality. Prices were reasonable. If you're looking for fine dining this is not the place for you but for a good value tasty meal it's spot on.
