We did the South rim tour. A good opportunity to learn about the canyon. The ride was very easy and enjoyable for our group, ages 11 - 56. We went in July and did the morning ride.

I rode to the shorter end of the rim, Desert View and back. I then took the bike bus to a drop off close to the other end by Hermit Rest;and biked along about 12 miles. I had a bus pickup back. Biked about 16 miles, as I recall. The view was breathtaking. I could see a lot of the... More

The information center recommended this for a bite to eat. It was very expensive. I think it was either $6 or $8 for a pb&j sandwich. We were traveling all morning to get there so we just paid their prices. I would recommend either eating at McDonalds in Tusayan or bring some of your own food to save money. (McDonalds... More

My teenagers wanted to ride bikes on the rim. Oblivious to the rain and freezing temps. We bought rain ponchos and set them loose. The fella that helped us (can't remember his name, but he moved from JAX, FL prior to this position) was glad to make my kids wishes come true and ride bikes on the rim. There was... More

We have used this little cafe several times in a week in canyon. It is nice to have something on the road east of the village and good choices for breakfast or lunch to go. Coffee was good, real cappuccino machine. We have not rent bikes this time but tempting and looks like the had lots of them and in... More

I strongly encourage renting bikes and heading towards Hermits Rest. The area does not allow cars and it affords families the opportunity to see great views by bicycling.

Biking up Hermits road was a challenge but worth it. The workers informed us on the spots that were best to load the bikes on the buses and where to get off for a pleasurable bike ride. They were knowledgeable and let us know everything prior. Service was a tad slow but they were busy that day!

Cafe review - this cafe offers ready made sandwiches, they are in a fridge by the cash till so you don't get much opportunity to browse before having to make your selection. The sandwiches are fairly expensive but given the location that's to be expected, they were ok.

Delicious coffee drinks (very important to get that caffeine while at the Grand Canyon)! They have very good sandwiches too! Nice little cafe inside the park. You can't go wrong!

nice little coffee shop to hit before a hike. We read a lot of reviews and arrived for an espresso to find the machine was broken.
