We visited in the days just after the park opened in May 2016. We camped in remote places along the rim (look to my other North Rim review for info) but we also visited the main park areas one day. When we arrived at the main park lodge we decided to have a drink on the deck. Interestingly enough though... More

This is a cool bar with a lot of history. It is where Teddy Roosevelt would drink when he came to hunt in the area. The bar is well decorated to reflect its history. The beer is cold with quite a few choices and there is a full selection of liquors but wine choices are pretty minimal. They serve pizza... More

Quaint, neat looking place, but lacking. I got the feeling the bartender really didn't like having to make coffee, I even tried to joke with him about it seeming odd to be ordering coffee at a bar, but not a word out of him except the price and nothing broke his scowl. The Mocha was even lousy. A bartender with... More

After hiking around the Canyon, really enjoyed a cold one! Staff was fantastic. No exaggeration here - great service, with a bit of tour guide thrown in when needed. A little of "inside baseball" advice as to where to go for best evening views, where the best star gazing is, what time to get up for the sunrise in the... More

This is a popular hangout at the North Rim, the staff is very friendly and they offer great coffee along with the alcoholic drinks. There are several pictures of Teddy Roosevelt on the walls which are very interesting.

I ordered a Cafe Mocha. The bartender was extremely capable of making any drink I could imagine, as he proceeded to do with the 6 people in line in front of me. The decoration and atmosphere perfectly matches the old West and trail ranger (hiker) imagination.

It is so dark and the stars so beautiful at the North Rim that the Saloon is a bonus for those of us that miss meals -- they have a few souvenirs, quick breakfast and lunch fare, and then great service for those in for a nightcap. Really nice service, small, intimate space.

We enjoyed a cappuccino here in the morning, and the people who worked in the "saloon" were knowledgeable about hikes and what to do in the Canyon. A great spot.
