Loved this place! We had an early seating (5 pm) but in November that is almost sunset. You must reserve!! Our waitress (Sheryl) was lovely. The food was excellent, the ambience quiet and restful, and the view... priceless!

On a Grand Canyon tour we stopped here for lunch and the place is adorable. I am hoping to stay at the lodge next time I visit. The food was really great - I had the vegetarian chili on fry bread and holy cow. It...More

Our friends convinced us to book a dinner at El Tovar. The restaurant is near the rim of the canyon but the view inside is very limited. We were somewhat disappointed in seeing the restaurant a very large open room with many tables which affected...More

The menu is very appetizing and tantalizing to the taste buds. Hand made soup is very tasty. The best Rubin I have had in a long time. Excellent deserts very rich!

Great setting for dinner. Comfortable and pleasing atmosphere. Food was excellent and came quickly. We travel around the world and truly had the best waiter we've ever had at this restaurant. He left us alone when needed, was there when we needed him and offered...More

Lovely old hotel. Very odd woman who was hostess, and really strange dynamic between her and the woman who came out to seat us. It looks like the wait staff was ignoring what the hostess was saying and seating people where it made sense. Almost...More

Books up fast - make reservation early. Our reservation was at 8:45. The food was excellent but expensive. I had Quail & my wife had Halibut. We were too fun to try any desert.

Lunch at El Tovar is a lovely treat: excellently-prepared food, pleasant service, good views and great people-watching. The Navajo "taco" was large & delicious: handmade frybread piled with fresh tomatoes, greens, ground beef & beans, with a generous side of guacamole, sour cream, and salsa....More

There's a view of the rim from the restaurant. It is a nice view but limited to the tables near the window. Thus, if you sit elsewhere in this large establishment you will not have a view of the Canyon.

Not really. We went in for breakfast wearing jeans, t-shirts and hiking boots.
