Elderly mother and my young daughter went to visit to elderly aunt's at the Kirkstile. Arrived around 1345. Got my Mother seated and went to the bar to place an order from the menu. Carlos the bar man had finished serving a customer but wouldn't let her walk away. Needed to explain in great depth about her debit card security.... More

This is a very cosy pub with an open fire, as you can imagine it's popular but service is good. Plus you can purchase kegs 👍🏻

Very kindly the landlord of the pub allowed us to leave our car parked here and trusted that we would return and either have a drink or a meal. The car park is supposed to be for patrons only but we couldn't get parked anywhere on the roadside in the vicinity in order to walk up one of the nearby... More

I have been here a fair couple f times now and is always a pleasure. Nestled in Loweswater hill side it's a picture perfect location. Very popular with walkers. The food is cooked fresh to order and offers a seasonal menu. Staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. We are heading back in July and will be... More

So often you order a pie and it is a bowl of meat and gravy with a loose pastry lid. This place serves real steak and ale pies with pastry top and bottom. Wonderful. Apart from the pie, this place is an absolute gem. It is in the middle of nowhere yet it was crammed full with cyclists, walkers and... More

Went on a Monday evening, it was busy but managed to get a table. The menu is of a restaurant standard - grouse, duck and sea bass, with a limited choice for bar meal choice. The food was good and my fillet steak was excellent, on the expensive side but worth it. Only marked 4 as I'm not too keen... More

Shhhhh! Keep this place quiet! An out of the way traditional pub with great food including the "Tatty Pot" stew and steak and ale pie. Amazing Loweswater Gold, a great session ale for those lucky enough to not be driving. Log fire, beamed ceiling, clean cosy accommodation, stunning views and friendly staff. What more could you want?! We'll definitely be... More

We visited the Kirkstile Inn during a family holiday. Although advertised as a dog friendly pub, it only allows dogs in before 6pm. Therefore we had to sit outside in the cold.
