This review is based on my experience last year, but it was such a memorable experience, my partner and I still speak about it now. We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and it was such a nice surprise. Our server, Julian, was from France...and he was friendly, patient and attentive to our every need. We selected the Matsusaka Premium Beef set with Garlic rice, which was great for the variety of dishes and different beef cuts. I highly recommend ordering the same, and I am counting down the days we can return to Japan to eat here again. Thanks so much for the amazing experience!More

My fiancee and I had one night to eat out in Osaka and chose this place. Wow! Perfect decision. Everything was amazing from start to finish. The chef/manager Yoshizumi started us off by explaining the whole menu personally to us and making recommendations - very...nice touch! And the rest of the staff (Sya and Anne) followed up with very friendly and attentive service through the rest of the night! I work at a high end steakhouse in Canada and I was very very impressed with both the fantastic service and the absolutely exceptional quality of the food. The matsusaka beef is literally the best I have ever had! Every cut we tried was rich and flavorful and some just melted away in the mouth with no chewing required! I have had A5 kagoshima wagyu and kobe beef many times, but the matsusaka beef is on a whole new level! And it is worth noting that the restaurant purchases the whole cow and uses every part, something very rare for a steak place in my experience! Another thing worth noting is the prices are very reasonable given the outstanding quality and attention to detail! I could go on for days talking about this experience but will end on this note; If you have a short or long time in Osaka, be sure to make this restaurant one of the stops in your food journey! You will fondly remember dining here for a long long time! Thank you again to the whole team! Arigato gozai mas!More

This place was recommended to us by a friend who is a chef and it did not disappoint! The service was amazing, we had our own little room which was lovely. We chose to have the premium beef course and it was the best beef...I've had in my life. Apparently some of the beef included is only found in Japan and each piece we had melted in our mouths! It was pricey, but worth it for the experience. Our waiter spoke English very well and explained everything very clearly. He also explained how long to cook each cut of meat for the best flavor. We also had the garlic rice which was good, but the star of the night was the beef! Highly recommend.More

An awesome bbq dinner place for Matsusaka beef. English speaking and service oriented staff and we had the chief who greeted us in the midst of his busy Friday evening, introduced us to some good selections of Matsusaka beef that we cannot resist and had...to order for second helping. Tip off the evening with sweet treats as we could have brought back the chief’s memory when he last worked in Singapore.More

I would say it's child friendly, but I am not sure if the menu is. I did not notice any smell from cigarettes myself, but they might have certain booths where smoking is allowed.

In my opinion, Matsusaka beef is even better than Kobe beef. Historically Kobe prefecture is very famous but personally I think the name Kobe is easier to pronounce than the other two main Wagyu's which appeals more globally.
