About
Thanks to its dedication, this ramen shop has earned a place in the first-generation hall of fame for ramen. Crafted by a Tokyo-born owner, the ramen is a carefully prepared masterpiece, with a base of select chicken and pork bones, enriched with dried fish, bonito flakes, and vegetables. With each sip, you'll experience the subtle fragrance of yuzu from Kochi Prefecture, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Our daily handmade large dumplings are another pride of our establishment, cherished by patrons for many years. The lightly finished homemade dumplings, made with chicken thigh meat, are a popular choice, with one in every two pairs of customers placing an order.

Randomly selected during a walk in Asakusa and located a stone's throw from the temple, this place is perfect for a typical and quick lunch break. Characteristic atmosphere, excellent service, the food arrived within minutes of ordering. The super tasty ramen, very tender meat that melted in your mouth, even the eggs had something special, same thing for the gyoza, all delicious at a very honest price.

While touring the shrine our guide gave us a couple of choices about places to eat and we definitely got the right one. When we walked in a few of the group moaned, which is usual, but by the end we’re happy. I love gyoza and often go to a Japanese restaurant in the city centre and have these with a drink, so it was nice to have them in Japan. Great meal at a great price, highly recommended.

To let others know incase you share my characteristics - I am queer/trans, overweight, tattooed, use a walking stick with limited mobility, white british. I found the seats comfy and could access the restaurant fine. The food was so good, I am vegetarian, and got the vegan ramen with an egg (definitely worth asking for the egg). One of my favourite meals. There is only one choice , but it's great.

Terrible place, made exclusively for tourists. The taste of the ramen and Gyoza is terrible and the place is very smelly. The icing on the cake: you can't pay with a card, as if it were 1900, I understand that this is a very common thing in Japan. Not recommended

We chose this restaurant based on the long line to get in! While in line someone hands you a menu with pictures to oder from. When it is your turn, you enter and pay up front. Seating is right away and the food is ready! There are tables upstiars but we sat at the counter where you can also watch them cook. The ramen was great! Not a place to linger with such a long line, but the food was worth the wait. Great location with lots of booths and restaurants. Would love to go back!

This is a representative Japanese restaurant in Asakusa, rumored to be the birthplace of ramen.
The pork bone and chicken bones give it a rich flavor, and the taste and flavor itself is a Japanese-style broth made with dried sardines and bonito, and the thick, rich soup was exquisite.
The boiled egg and roast pork are just as delicious, and the toppings are also recommended.

We love ramen and have enjoyed it in many restaurants in Japan and other countries. Unfortunately, the ramen at Yoraiya didn't live up to the hype in reviews. It was ok but nothing exceptional.
The gyoza, however, were excellent, one of the best.
Service was prompt and friendly.

Our first meal in Asakusa did not disappoint! There was nine of us and the staff made every effort to accommodate us and moved us upstairs so we could be together. English is good and all of the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely die again so

Personally I'm not a big lover of ramen but I have to say that this place made me think again. Fast and efficient service, delicious food, courteous staff... It was a very interesting experience, absolutely recommended for lovers of the genre.

This restaurant is overrated. The smell on the second floor is unbearable and the ramen's taste is nothing special, even poor.

Pretty mediocre ramen, as the broth lacks richness in taste. The gyoza was much better, with good stuffing.
I base my review on the experience of more than 40 ramen restaurants in Japan.

Okay ramen, if you’ve had other ramen experiences before. The soup wasn’t great and it was a weird line up experience. They take your order while you’re waiting (which we’re used to whilst in Japan), and when you’re finally at the front of the line, they pass the order to the cashier that takes your payment and then they direct you to a table. The broth wasn’t as robust as we expected and the noodles weren’t really quite ramen. We should’ve known since they tout themselves on the noodles being more Chinese style. Even so, the noodles didn’t taste great. The accompaniments were decent and the service was quick. Not worth more than 3 stars tho. If you’re in the area, would suggest a more, true ‘hole in the wall’ for some more authentic ramen.

Nasty staff. We brought a covered coffee and the staff gave us a nasty attitude about not allowing outside food. There was NO reason for this. Ruined my appetite

Thank you for visiting our restaurant.
We appreciate your feedback.
In Japanese dining establishments, especially those that are not food courts, it is generally against the rules to bring in outside food and drinks. We responded in accordance with common practices in Japan. If our manner of communication or our handling of the situation was inadequate, or if we were not able to respond politely in English, we apologize. However, we believe we acted appropriately, and we hope for your understanding.

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
