Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Must go. This was hands down one of the best meals I've had in my life. The chefs were extremely creative and handled food allergies VERY well (gluten, shellfish and pork). They also came up with additional dishes to compensate for the dishes we couldn't have, instead of other chefs who just have you skip that course. Our chefs spoke some English too which helped and made the experience so much fun and not stuffy at all. Highly, highly recommend. Very expensive though. Dinner + drinks for two was around $600 USD.

Seriously. We were recommended this by friends of ours and we could not be happier that we took the recommendation. There’s no menu, you get what you get and you don’t get upset. But, everything is without a doubt, “the best”, so it’s perfect.

It’s not unusual you see micheline stars decorated Japanese restaurant everywhere here in Tokyo. But to find a great Michelin and felt totally welcomed Is another story. Ozaki San obviously is the master of nigiri. Judging by their catering the most minute detail i know that I am in good hand. They know fish, they know traditional way of preparation and they have open mind to adapt to new creation. We truly enjoyed our dinner there.

This place annoyed me from the get go with their we got a Michelin so now can dictate the type of guests we will serve, including insisting that a gaijin make a reservation through my hotel after I stopped by one evening to inquire about the following week. There are a lot of other great sushi places in the area so I would recommend places with a bit more history and reputation like Sushi Kan, the other Sushi Yuu, and a couple of places in Nishi Azabu before I would end up at this place. Only one year old and probably won’t last the 2020s.

For my first trip to Tokyo, I enlisted the help of some very well informed Japanese friends and friends of friends. The only reason I, being non-Japanese and non-Japanese speaking, I could get a reservation was because of these high end connections. Sushi Yu is located in the Blade Runner-ish looking Roppongi Hills part of Tokyo in a nondescript basement location that was hidden from site. The menu is of course omakase style and composed of numerous small bites of the best seafood and shellfish it is possible to eat, served right into your hand from the chef. The dining clientele seemed to be composed of ageing famous Japanese rock stars and TV actors, and the chefs chefs were patient, and despite the lack of English, very accommodating. I look forward to my next visit impatiently. The omakase menu with a few drinks came to the equivalent of about 300 Euros for two.

Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.
