Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Wondering why this is still in the list given it has been closed for well over 12 months stating renovations. There is no signs of this place returning

Two of us went on a Saturday night and they only one other party in there - indication of food! Samosa pastry was disgusting and tasted like it had been re-fried about 6 times. My main was a veg curry and was bland and mushie....My friend had lamb which seemed to be better. Will not return.More

Great food here. Very well cooked . Well presented decor and friendly accommodating staff. Highly recommended. Good value for money. Every dish was tasty and the rice and naan perfect.

We arrived on a Thursday evening to a suprisingly spacious venue with very few customers. Had the locals voted it down ,we wondered? We stayed anyway and were very glad we did., the entries were so tasty and the bottle of " house wine" we...opted for was a very pleasant suprise.-far from your average Indian offering .A lovely bottle of well branded Chardy. Excellent variety on the menu. WE ordered chicken korma , fish malabar, plain rice and naan bread and the helpings were as generous as anywhere.,and. we got all that for $35 (not the wine and entries) My wife and i thought it a very satisfactory experience.More

We had some dramas making contact and felt very special being the only customers for a while on a Saturday night but these dramas I believe are due to a need to improve management. The restaurant itself was very well/classically presented with clean white table...cloths, napkins, shiny wine glasses and TAFE level settings. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was fine. I suspect with an increase in custom this place could be great.More

My wife and I visited the restaurant on a deal meal for two. We got there and Billy the waiter was very ready to assist with everything but alas the food was very unimpressive. The starter was shared Chicken Tikka, with mint and Tamarind sauces,...and two Popadoms! The Popadoms were cold and slightly stale. The mains were Lamb Korma and Butter Chicken, Rice and Nan bread. Really nothing special at all. A night to forget! Billy the waiter worked very hard but he’s fighting an uphill battle unless the management can turn this place around, which I hope they do. The general service and food needs to up its game!More

A Really Nice indian Restaurant, Not over priced, and the food is as good as any I would expect to find in Sydney. A lovely subdued atmosphere with unobtrusive service. WE had a lovely evening there

Booked lunch for 4 people for Sun lunch. Day before confirmed. Got there and restaurant was closed. Pretty embarrassing for our 2 guests. Went to Grand Pavillion at Ettalong instead of which was lovely. Will call Melting chilli tom and ask what happened.

Used a Groupon voucher for dinner on Sat night. Service was friendly and efficient. The Naan bread was light and the mint sauce very flavoursome. The Chicken Tikka entree was only 2 pieces. It was tasty but a disappointing serving portion (should have been at least...4 pieces for a $14 menu item). For mains we had Lamb Korma and a Beef Do Piana. Both dishes were tasty and reasonable serving portions. The bowl of steamed rice was cooked well. All dishes cam to the table hot and had a nice aroma. The bottle of white wine (Riverboat Savignon Blanc) included in the voucher was ok. Overall the dining experience was good but I sensed this place is lacking patronage as only 4 tables of about 25 were occupied and only 1 walk in take away customer in the 1.5 hours we were there. It would be interesting to see how they would handle more orders.More

We went on a Tues Eve for a special occasion. Against my better judgement we used a groupon voucher. Upon arrival it is a nice atmosphere and we had the restaurant to ourselves with Indian music playing. I sat on a bench seat which was...too high and my legs dangled and the back squeaked. The pappadams were oily. The young waitress was polite however neglected to open or pour the wine all night despite prompting! My partner enjoyed his meat curry. My vegetable korma was thick and unseasoned. Never before have I had to add sale to an Indian dish including the naan bread. The garlic naan was thin, over worked and not cooked in parts. I sent it back and it came out slightly improved but very poor quality. The rice was nice but in a bowl too small so it spilled everywhere. We had a nice conversation however the waitress did not ask us how our meals were until we were ready to leave. We were still the only ones in the restaurant. To top off the ruination of our special occasion they did not accept my Groupon email proving I paid online. The supervisor wanted to argue with me and I was afraid she’d barricade me in the building if I didn’t pay a second time. I did so as not to embarrass my friend further nor have a conflict at the table. I left and cried. They did refund the money the next day as promised when I could access the voucher. However I’d never go back. That evening I had a tummy upset that continued for 24 hours! A disgrace to the coast and the hospitality industry.More

Food here is surprisingly good and so are the prices ($16 for a meat dish, $12 for a vegetable dish) We started with a samosa and chicken tikka entree and then had a beef curry and vegetable korma. All were good. Definitely worth a try.
