Just 6km from Bright on the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, we are a licensed cafe serving all day breakfast, toasted sandwiches & scrumptious home-made cakes & scones. We use free-range eggs & superb locally roasted coffee. Other tasty options include local favourites such as the Big Beef'n'Bacon BBQ Cheeseburger, Breakfast Burrito or Chicken Quesadilla! Plus Bike Racks, High Chairs & lots of smiles! See you soon! Please check our website or our Facebook page for current opening hours. Regular Opening Hours 8am-4pm Saturday through Wednesday. Generally 7 days/week during School Holidays, Public Holidays & Local Festivals (Bright Spring & Autumn Festivals). However we are closed on Christmas Day and for the month of August.

We stopped in after doing the rail trail from Bright. They have a simple cafe style menu with all the classic. We were so impressed with their version of a toasted sandwich and chicken wrap. Don't underestimate the flavours. Yummy chai latte too. Thanks guys. Keep it up!! Can't wait to return to enjoy your country hospitality with a punch of personality.

Best ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich I have ever had in my life! Ingredients were fresh and ham was thinly sliced, so many layers! I couldn’t eat it all haha. Grilled chicken and salad wrap was also huge and delicious! Great value for money! Nice outdoor seating area under trees. Friendly, fast service. Highly recommend you try this place!!

We enjoyed afternoon tea and sweet snacks on our way cycling from Myrtleford to Bright. The cafe was not too busy. The coffee and food was very good. Sitting outside was very pleasant on a warm autumn day.

A nice setting but $12.00 for 2 medium size average quality takeaway coffees plus extra for using a credit card. Really? Maybe it’s because they have the monopoly on the location. But everywhere close by charges $4.50 for a coffee with table service. These are beyond Melbourne prices!

Hi There, Thankyou for taking the time to write a review. We recently increased our pricing as our local coffee roaster had passed on price increases to us a while back that we could only absorb for so long -before increasing our prices too. We do encourage dine in service rather than takeaway, and it is cheaper that way than choosing takeaway and using disposable cups. We also encourage customers to use Keep Cups wherever possible which avoids the Takeaway charge. Likewise, there is no Credit Card charge applied if you pay with cash. We are simply passing on some of the charges applied to us, which helps us remain sustainable into the future, and enables us to continue to employ lots of local staff, who are all paid the correct rates under the Fair Work Act including all relevant penalties. This may or may not be the case for the other venues you refer to - whether here or in Melbourne. We stopped here for lunch during a ride along the rail trail. Disappointingly they were out of anything that we wanted to eat (no French toast, muesli, bagels or burgers). We settled for bacon and eggs which was nice but only one of our ordered drinks made it to the bill. By this time I was too frustrated to order another one so I just went without.

Hello and Thankyou so much for taking the time to write a review. I am really sorry that your experience with us wasn't up to your expectations (or our normal standards). We do sometime run out of some menu items during peak times - as everything is made fresh on the day, and our fridges etc. can only hold so much in terms of menu item ingredients. We do then stock up again ready for the next day! However, with regard to your missing drink item, I am really sorry about that. Our practice is to read back each order and have the customer confirm it, however if your drink was left off the order, then clearly something went wrong in this process. Great food. Been going there for years for the toasted ham cheese and tomato sandwich. It is jam packed with delicious ham, cheese and tomato. Every time we go it is exactly the same quality. Never disappoints. The iced coffee is amazing.

Thank you trip advisor for recommending this special cafe. What a great local atmosphere on the Ovens River. My eggs with chorizo and avocado was absolutely delicious. Great coffee. Quick and friendly service. Highly recommended to others too.

The rail trail has been on my bucket list for years. I have now ridden most of it, in both directions. The Rail trail cafe at Punka is a STAND OUT establishment. These people "get" cyclists. Well done. You are great. Other towns along the trail, especially Myrtleford (!!!!!) could learn a LOT from you. Well done.

A lovely relaxed atmosphere. We sat outdoor (I don't think there is indoor Seating) under the trees/in the gardens. We had the french toast & chilli chorizo, avocado egg bake. Both were delicious & had great flavor.
The coffee was also good. I had an almond flat white & enjoyed it.
