Nice view of water. Definitely set up for the tourists as that is whom seemed to get preference. Over priced and small portions. Drinks very expensive suggest going across to the Hotel.

Recent vistor from Hawera,South Taranaki. I like to think of myself as someone whom enjoy's good fish N chip's and like most Kiwi's we know what great fish N chips is. Not to mention my father worked on the fishing boats in Wellington whom supplied to the Wellington Sea Market in the 70's for 20 years. I thought I would... More

This is a long standing establishment worth of its world famous rating, the fish is beautifully cooked with the option of enjoying a glass of wine while you sit at the table provided under cover on the wharf. Would be advisable to check when the Tour Buses are due to arrive to save a long wait for your food.

While the setting is gorgeous in this character filled fishing town, as a kiwi and understanding the craze that 'Best Fish & Chips in New Zealand' is a major title, I'm a tad embarrassed. The meal was OVER priced and OVER cooked and portion sizes were dismal. The prices should be LESS than the standard New Zealand fish and chip... More

Large choice of fresh seafood cooked in batter while you wait. Licenced bar attached and eat in over the water in a quiet setting off the highway. Fish was fresh but batter not crunchy

The service was poor and the food not up to scratch. We were totally disappointed with our meal here. The blue cod was cooked perfectly, however the calamari was way overcooked as was all the other food ordered.

Not good enough for the prices. Tourist trap. We had a fish burger which was ok. $15. Calamari with shoe strings was all over cooked. $15. Two cokes. All up $40 for lunch. Never go there again.

A very aptly named fish and chip shop on a wharf, a choice of fresh caught fillets, three styles of fries ... its possible it is not the best in New ZealaND buT it is certainly the best so far. Special mention for the devine marinated fish salad.

The fish was small and greasy, the chips not crunchy. When it turned out there were no gluten-free fish options, asking for a bunless burger appeared to cause a lot of confusion in the kitchen. Won't get sucked in next time!
