The menu is all pre selected and advance booking is required. Don't forget to ask for rice wine which comes with the meal before started any course as it's a great appetiser. The cucumber ice blended drink was also a great refreshing drink to go along with the meal. The tender juicy salted barbecue fish is awesome! The petola@gourd soup was something you get everyday but because it was probably boiled for hours, it gives a very homely taste. Not forgetting the buttery and fragrant taste and smell of the wild boar. There was also a passion fruit infused appetiser which was my favorite! Over whole, in a small town of Hualien, for the price, should give it a try.

7 courses (which was more like 10 in reality) was delicious. Wonderful food with the highlight being the salted fish. Excellent.

We walked in to this restaurant and were told we could not get a table without a reservation. It was not far from where we were staying and we were able to make a reservation for the following evening. It was a set meal and we added a bottle of Millet wine, which was served with lemon and ice and was REALLY good. The courses came out quickly, some were better than others. The salt steamed fish was one of the best fish I have ever had in my life. Service was friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area to try and make a reservation.

This is the only place where you can get authentic and unique Taiwan aboriginal food in a restaurant. Delicious 9 course dinner. Please make reservations before you visit.

The food is awesome! Michelin standard food at affordable price. The salt bake fish is simply out-of-this-world! Fresh, succulent and perfectly cooked! There is a twist in the taste of the food that is delicious and heavenly! This is the best restaurant on my Taiwan holiday! Magnificent!

This place was incredible. We didn’t know about it until we stayed just down the street and we were able to snag a spot for the 1930 seating. Every course we were served was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. Definitely one of the best meals of the whole trip.

I wanted to visit the restaurant for a dinner but unfortunately it wasn't opened. However, I managed to have lunch there. Service and food were great. Plenty of surprises. Highly encouraged to make reservations as restaurant is small and may not have seats for walk in guests.

I really really love the food here! The salt baked fish is perfectly fresh, tender and juicy on the inside. I’m an Asian who has my fair share of Chinese cuisine and this is by far the best fish I’ve had. The chicken is juicy and tender on the inside and crispy and nicely grilled on the outside. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. All the food are so fresh and nicely done! For the quality, the price is really cheap. I’ll definitelu bring my friends back again if we are in hualian!

You need to call ahead to book at least 24 hours in advance. They do not accept walk-ins because they prepare exactly the amount that is needed. There are two seatings for lunch (11am or 1pm) and two seatings for dinner. When we called one day before they were already fully booked for the next two days for dinner, so we got a 1pm lunch slot. The menu is set by the restaurant and cost $550 NT per person. Some other reviewers said it was a 9 course meal, but that really depends on what you consider to be a “course”. They started by giving us each an entire bamboo tube filled with sticky rice. It’s extremely filling, so 1.5 tubes was enough for our party of 4 to share. Next, there was a salad, then vegetable rice paper wraps. Then we had grilled fatty pork, which we only ate the small bit of meat at the end and threw away the huge fatty portion. Next we received a pitcher of fresh dragon fruit juice, which was very refreshing on a hot day and delicious. Next we got a plate of grilled chicken and sausage, followed by a large salt-baked fish. These two dishes were the standouts! Absolutely delicious! Lastly there was a vegetable soup and a dish of stir fried muscles. To end, there was a cup of sweet rice wine for each person. The soup was delicious, but the muscles did taste fresh. Two of us actually spit it out and didn’t finish it. We also didn’t like the rice wine because it was just sweet with not much alcohol taste. The view just outside the restaurant is amazing, as it sits on a beachfront. If you are there for lunch, walk across to the beach and soak in the view. Overall, it was a unique and good experience, but some dishes were not good. The menu is seasonal, so you may eat something different from us depending on when you go.

A fantastic introduction to local (including aboriginal) dishes – a set 9-course menu at a very reasonable price. The fish is sublime, and the entire line-up is very impressive. You need to book at least one day ahead -- e.g. by finding someone with Mandarin language to call ahead for you and book. Fixed seating at 19-30 except Wednesdays.

First of all, make sure you book in advance because they don't accept walk in at all! Just tell the taxi driver the name of this restaurant and they answered "ahh Mu Ming. How did you know them?" Apparently this is one of the most popular local restaurant in the town where even local loves it. We enjoyed our meal a lot, especially we traveled the whole day, we didn't want to think of anything but just relax! Menu was all settled, staff is friendly, excellent service but there's something they could adjust or improve --- their meal portion. I was travelling with 3 pax already and still found it difficult to finish all dishes. (see the attachment). We couldn't finished each one even they're delicious because each and every dish was a bit too much for us. Even though you're travelling alone/ with 2, the portion could be the same as 4 - 6 pax, make sure your stomach is empty or even do some exercise before arrival :D

There are two menus, TWD350 per person or TWD 550 per person. You won't need what you will be served though. You need to book in advance and tell them your choice. No deposit is required but please attend accordingly. The indoor seating is a bit crowdy, so avoid big bags if you can. The taste is extraordinary, not the one we savour in the other Taiwanese restaurant in Hualien. They have special sauce. The portion is big though we managed to finish nearly all except the fish which was grilled in whole and the soup which was served in a big bowl.

The food is very interesting of local aboriginal style, very tasty. Service could be better as the young staff were very mechanical, seem to think all they had to do was to serve the food and take the plates away, like robots.
